So I haven't seen this posted yet and their website has not been updated. To be honest their website looks kinda crappy. I got this news from their own Facebook and their Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection page:
Now they didn't say what licenses they aquired, so it could very well be a rehash of Williams Collection with a few more Williams tables.
Even though Williams owns Bally pinball, there was a lack of Bally/Midway tables in Williams collection. I'd really love to see some Bally tables, especially Whodunit, Theatre of Magic, Revenge from Mars and Safecracker.
Classic Bally I'd love to see Nip-It (as seen on Happy Days whoot!) Fireball II, 8-Ball, BMX, and Rampage (yes based on the actual arcade game Rampage).
Of course they Holy Grail would be for them to secure licensed properties so we could get The Addams Family or The Twilight Zone, but I would bet that would be a logistical nightmare.
The announcement of releasing on other platforms is pretty sweet. I'm getting really excited for these guys. When Gottlieb collection came out I thought it was an okay title on PS2, the physics were kind of wonky and the tables I don't think were Gottliebs best. But Williams blew me away, and then continued to do so on the 360 and the PSP versions. I haven't played the 3DS version yet but I'll probably be picking that up first after I get a 3DS.
From what I understand they were supposed to rerelease Gottlieb on XBLA using the physics from Williams, but I haven't heard any other news on that.
FarSight Studios is extremely proud to announce that we will be releasing a new pinball game in early 2012! Weve been busy acquiring licenses, building new tables, and developing our technology on many platforms (including iPhone, iPad, and Android). We welcome all comments and table suggestions (we keep a running tally of all requests). We want to ensure that our game will be the definitive collection of classic pinball! Stay tuned for updates over the next few months!
