That's a tough question but I'd say phendrana drifts from MP1.

This or the menu music from Prime. Any other answer is wrong.

Just listening to the other posts in this thread makes me realize what an amazing and consistent soundtrack this series has.

Decided to check out Other M's soundtrack as I don't remember it, and hey, they've got another version of the above:

But most of the soundtrack went in a very different direction from the rest of the games, it's more cinematic; creating ambiance to accompany the action rather than having character on its own. Disappointing and it shows since I can't remember or play back any tunes in my head.

All of super metroid is so good, I'm surprised it took so long for red soil and. Rinstar to come up. Echo the sentiments about Maridia. That song is a different composer than all the others, and she does a great job at capturing the mood of that dark cavernous water stage.
