I don't see the point in paying to access old games I can get for cheap anyway, and still have to pay for the new releases. Why subscribe when I still have to pay for the games I want to play anyway?
This is a path for the budget minded gamer. Why pay to play old games when they are cheap? Because combined, it would cost a lot more to buy all those old games than to just pay for a year sub, especially since new games are added every year for you. Battlefield 4 is $20 new atm. Or I can pay close to that and get that game plus 5 others. Think like this - eventually Dragon Age: Inquisition is going to be part of this (like a year or two down the road). It will still probably cost $20 to buy it new at that time. Pretty much any game EA releases on the Xbox One is going to eventually be part of this. That means it's basically going to be a library of old EA games for really cheap, with 6 hours access to full new games before they come out.
This program certainly isn't for everyone, but for those that don't feel madden is worth $60 a year, Fifa, don't want to buy any game really for $60 - this is a good deal. The fact you know future titles like Dragon Age Inquisition and such will eventually be part of it is even better. Plus, at least for now, you could arguablly sell old games to gamestop and it alone would pay the cost of this for a year yet you get all your same games right back. Say you sell Madden 15 next summer - it's going to be on EA Access in the fall. You might only get $5, but combine that with selling your old Fifa, your old Dragon Age, and then you get those games back? They just paid for themselves, and then some.
