Mr. Heller’s cousin, Gary Ballen, said he died after he had a heart attack while driving, The Associated Press reported.

Mr. Heller, who was known as Jerry, and Eric Wright, the rapper known as Eazy-E, founded Ruthless Records, which released N.W.A.’s album “Straight Outta Compton” in 1988, which also featured the rappers Dr. Dre and Ice Cube, and helped propel the West Coast gangsta rap movement.
