Just a very short first impression of The Order: 1886 (PS4), 0:39s. Stunning looking game.

For the sake of completeness, my Remote Play gameplay test within a train (Dragon Age): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZmy_GEvyjA

I am still surprised, that it worked.
Title: Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception multiplayer on PS3
Nice to see some UC3 gameplay, I liked the MP. But didn´t know that UC3 had a capture function integrated. But seriously, it just saved the video files in 360p?
Nice video. When I see that, I am really looking forward to Bloodborne., which is still is on my backlog list (beside TW3, Dragon Age etc...)

Yeah it did and the max setting for it was 360p and if I remember correctly, there was also a limitation with the duration of the video. It was pretty basic but it did it's job for the time being.

Title: Mirror's Edge
Platform: PC
Length: various, mostly under 2 minutes.

Content: Some fairly advanced play (but not really trying glitches or playing speedrun style)

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWQP5T7B0KTLGQtcE0RHkYTYsW-8CLvCg

There's a few neat little tricks I discovered in there, mixed with me iterating trying to get the best times I can on the time trials. Probably a lot of it is obvious stuff if you played Mirror's Edge extensively, but there might be something new in there for you.

Title: Grand Theft Auto Online
Platform: PS4
Length: 2:44

Content: Short montage of fails and funny moments centered my buddy Ray and his affinity for the Sanchez. I titled it "A Boy and His Bike" after finishing the edit.

Includes appearances by me and our friend Alex, with an ending involving more NPC gangsters in Grove Street than I've ever seen before. Also, flying. Sort of...

Great video, well done!

Probably tomorrow I´ll post a summary of my Dragon Age playthrough (including cutscenes). Used the share button quite often, so I had to filter quite a bit of video material.

So, as promised the summary of my Dragon Age: Inquisition playthrough (PS4).

What do you think of it? It would be nice to get some feedback, as it took quite a while.

Content: gameplay of different scenic locations, fighting, dialogues and many cutscenes throughout the game (in a more or less chronological order). Major story spoiler warning (also contains endgame cutscenes)

I'm interested in seeing more of this. I think the PS4 Share Button is a great feature and sharing video clips is pretty cool.

Here are a few of my own videos from my PS4.

I never knew this thread existed until Nerix posted the link to it in the "Why there are so few GAFers interested in sharing and discussing their own gameplay?" topic.

Might start recording more gameplay footage from now on.

Couple Rocket league saves: 30 seconds each

My 2nd attempt at Father gascoigne in bloodborne. Need to pick this game up again, only got to Vicar Amelia then got distracted: 3-4 minutes

Content: I'm not top tier by any means, but I've always loved how expressive (and impressive) Smash matches can be. Thanks to the latest patch, I can finally share some Smash that entertained me, to say the least. Most videos are 1-2 minutes.

Note: I'm a Ganondorf main (kind of an accident), I honorably taunt at the start of each match, and I (mostly) play green color alts. Overwhelmingly positive in the face of salt.

When RB4 comes out I'll be posting quite a few vids.....but for now I mostly stream to twitch. Should probably put my full playthroughs of QUBE and Lifeless Planet on Youtube before they disappear on my twitch profile.

Video Title: Bloodborne Ep 2 part 1b: Killing Barry Montage - YouTube version
Platform: PS4
Length: 11.14

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbTKyKT1MWI&index=7&list=PLHZ5ocwlXyulMF8LH4n3JhrfmkeB7Wod6

Content: A montage of me trying to kill 'Barry', the big executioner dude next to the clinic (created with ShareFactory)

------QUERY-----

I'm trying to do a Let's Play style series using the PS4 and Share Factory, I've got a lot to learn, but I'm wondering if I should do quick edits between moments, or just keep it as raw as possible with minimal editing?

For example, is this montage interesting? Or should I just show me dying once or twice and then cut to where I succeed? Feel free to check out the other vids and let me know how to improve. I would love some feedback, feel free to be brutal as possible. Thanks.

Would love to see it, but as I still haven´t played Bloodborne I have to pass.

But a few tips in general, when I look at some videolengths : most people probably won´t see videos > 10min with continous gameplay without cuts. So if you post such a video, I would suggest to add some timestamps where something special happens. Obviously ideal would be, if you cut the video so that the interesting scenes follow after another.

I tried to do that with my Dragon Age video posted above. It is quite long, but hopefully not boring as there are quite a few cuts. Some feedback on that one would be also nice :) (story spoilers!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kP5zImhVu40

I'm definitely no expert but i would suggest just doing what kind of videos you envision for your channel. If you like the quick cuts to show only success then do it! If you want to show raw gameplay deaths and all (just try to edit out as much of the loading as you can) the go for it! Just make sure you tag and title your videos properly. If you tag commentary make sure you do commentary and not just say one word per video and vice versa.

See, my videos are pure gameplay. No commentary. Hell, my channel is called Pure Gaming. I do 10-15 minute videos of nothing but pure, unedited gameplay.

Just a short reminder: if possible pls update this table when you post a new video.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15zBlde8uTHXK97GhE1jO_n6ATAoKjRxEtCivDFVGYPQ/

I just played it briefly, but I liked what I saw - seems to be a very creative game (and in the search section are some great levels created by other developers (e.g. SSM)).

Feel free to challenge my scores :)
Nice attempts, I like the fighting system of the Batman games (I think quite a few games copied it more or less successful). But I think one picture per game should be enough, especially if it´s the same ;)

Hi Nerix,

thanks for the tips, I'll take that on board. I checked out your Dragon Age clip, and I can see what are trying to do in that vid. This is just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth:

Because the clips were so varied, the audio from clip to clip was quite jarring between cuts because of the scenes shown, so it ended up taking you out of what you're watching. Obviously that's out of your control, because the source material is what it is and so I think the easy way to deal with that is to:

A) overlay a track across the whole footage to link everything together. However that isn't ideal because it messes with the dialogue in your clips, so you'll have to go in and edit the music track to fade out during dialogue, and it ends up being a lot of work and you have to choose music tracks that suit all the footage etc and then hope youtube doesn't end up blocking your vid.

B) So I've been thinking and maybe this might work: Linking the clips with 3 second title cards. This will allow you to fade out the audio from the clip to title card, prepare the viewer for the next clip, and inform them briefly about what's coming next: The title cards should have very brief text, so it doesn't slow the pacing down and can be easily read in that time. You can even include a 3 second audio for the title cards to remove the dead moments and keep things moving.

What do you think? I hope this helps you somewhat.

Thanks for the detailed feedback.

I think you made a few good points, I recognized as well that some transitions aren't optimal regarding the sound. The idea with the title cards is a good one, I'll think about it next time (but I also have your concern in mind, that this could change the overall pace and flow of the video).
