Also, what has this developer done before?
Yet it's coming to current gen consoles as well...we feel the upcoming game showcases some of the gameplay innovation potential now possible on next-generation consoles through its groundbreaking Nemesis System.
It sounds like Middle Earth is going to receive a good lore ass-rape
Why can't they do this in a new franchise/lore?
Well that was a different developer.War in the North was average right?
Should expect the same for this one.

I smell exclusive playstation dlc. Ps4 is listed first and Warner bros are playstation partnered.
Monolith is famous for the No One Lives Forever series, the Condemned series, the first two FEAR titles, and they recently did the LOTR MOBA for consoles.
Who wanted this?

Prequel to the lord of the rings......Tolkien alread did that its called the Hobbit....
if this is an original story it will suck balls, IF and its a huge IF they draw from source material and unfinished tales etc then it could be passable
but thats from a story view point
gameplay wise i have no expectations, but i'd like it to be like the X-men Legends/MUA games and a 4 character squad with drop in drop out multiplay avaliable
Interesting
open world rpg with a guy with superhuman powers.
trying to take on witcher 3?
Please don't suck
this sounds like what i'd want from a lord of the rings game. be cool if it wasn't cross gen, but still interested.

I'm now expecting a brief interlude while people get their Monoliths confused

Get used to it. Cross gen is gonna be around for a while.
No One Lives Forever - Great, great game that's up in the air regarding licensings.
Condemned: Criminal Origins 1 and 2 - spooky survival action game involving hobos and bears.
FEAR 1 - Spooky Shooter that's really damn good.
FEAR 2 - Spooky Shooter that's good but not as good as the sequel but still holds up pretty well.
FEAR 3 - Shit shooter that's not spooky at all and requires Co-Op
Gotham City Impostors - Honestly it's my FAVORITE shooter of this generation. Oozes style and the gunplay is phenomenal.
Guardians of Middle Earth - it's a MOBA.
I think they're qualified.
