I meant not much profit. And until I see numbers on how much profit its making I dont think it has changed much because they are bringing over other services like EA and Ubisoft which must cost alot too. And all the other 3rd party games.

“Greenberg said people don't need to worry about Microsoft--they'll be just fine. In terms of the profitability of Xbox Game Pass for Microsoft, Greenberg confirmed it's "not a big profit play" right now, as Microsoft is just starting the program. Greenberg said the investments Microsoft is making in Xbox Game Pass today might be costly in the short term, but they will ultimately pay dividends down the road
if everything goes to plan.”
“To help get Xbox Game Pass growing, Microsoft offered subscriptions for only $1. This helped the subscriber base grow to
more than 10 million so far. If Microsoft is indeed losing money on Xbox Game Pass right now, the company can afford to take the hit, it seems.”
"We always laugh [when we hear that]. Please don't worry about us," Greenberg said about people expressing concerns that Microsoft is losing money on Xbox Game Pass. "Microsoft is going to be alright. We're gonna make it--I think we're gonna be OK."
With Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft is focusing on over-delivering on value, even if it comes at the cost of profits in the short term.”
All Im saying is Its a Great service for people who want that I admit. But its because MS can afford it, they are in the trillion dollar club. They will be fine regardless.
They will be fine if the whole xbox division collapses. Unlike Sony and Nintendo, they can afford to lose the gaming division and still be one of the biggest most profitable companies in the world. They can also afford to keep this module going forever regardless of it not making much profit or breaking even.
And TBH if Xbox wasnt talking gamepass, they would have had a very lame generation, its whats keeping them in the conversation In the gaming world. They are throwing everything at it because they want it to work and replace the current/old model of selling games. They can afford to lose money to beat Nintendo and Sony down the long road.
Atm its not making much money, getting all these games and other services on gamepass costs money and its something they can afford to do to beat the competition.
I think having these games on gamepass will effect the sales yes, otherwise Sony and Nintendo would rather put there exclusives day one on a subscription based service, but they are actually making more profits doing what they are doing.
But if gamepass carries on doing well, it will put pressure on Nintendo and Sony to change because fans want things to be cheaper, Im sure MS is banking on it like a Trojan horse. Other companies probably cant afford to make these triple AAA games to be day 1 on subscription because it costs alot Of money to make these games. MS can Afford it.
As for Fallout 5, It will probably sell millions, but less so than Fallout 4 because alot of people will have it on gamepass etc. Same as forza, Im not sure about Sea of Thieves. I like sea of thieves and Forza, Fallout not so much
