Oh absolutely its the higher ups at Blizzard that make these monetization decisions. Its because Hearthstone is by far the biggest TCG and its why it really needs strong competition.

For the more experienced players? Which pack do you guys recommend for someone that mostly played Sylvanna's and Valla? I really love Sylvanna's, she's my most played hero and almost reached level 10 with her.

That sounds like a pretty good offer.

I'm a total MOBA noob partly down to disliking any form of PvP in games and also down to horror stories of toxic MOBA communities. However when a couple of friends and I were looking for something new to play I considered HOTS, since as I'm aware you can play quite a lot against bots to get a feel for the game and that alone may even be enough for a decent chunk of time.
Though I don't play it I do enjoy watching others do so, it a very entertaining game to watch especially when watching the right people.

A quick question though, I played the tutorial and found the controls very strange to get the hang of, it certainly didn't click for me, is it just a case of learning new skills to play or is there a simpler control scheme people prefer in early days.

HOTS bribes keep getting more ridiciulous, lol. I'll probably go for the support bundle, seems like the best value based on what I own and I like playing supports. I already have Rehgar and Tassadar though.

I like the game and enjoy coming back to it now and then, but I only wanna play it with friends. The 'OH GOD PLEASE PLAY HOTS PLEASE' events have been a lot of fun since they draw out some of my WoW associates.

Will log back in to grab this. Similar to a lot of people in that I'll need to take a look at who which pack has the most new heroes as I was pretty heavy on HotS until mid-2016.

Also, is there a breakdown of the big changes coming with 2.0? This is my first hearing about it.

I've never been interested, but I like free characters.

This is just promotion for the 2.0 update that's been in the works for a while.

It might not be doing as well as its direct competition, but it seems to be doing fine.

Neat. I might jump back in. I had a lot of fun with Yoshichan and the rest of the crew but then I just sorta stopped.

That's pretty damn neat, a very nice treat for newcomers and people who only have a few heroes. As for me I all ready have most of the heroes I like and those that I don't have are pretty spread out making it hard to choose a pack. Still though, a free Abathur, Tracer or Ragnaros is always a welcome addition to the line-up.

Well, this will certainly draw in a ton of new players. Pretty cool, I might play a few matches as a result. I liked the gameplay of HotS but never saw the cost of the characters to be a fair value proposition.

Just looked at the bundles, I'll probably grab the assassins just because I am lacking almost the entire thing. All the other bundles I have a decent smattering of heroes already unlocked.

I think it has more to do with making it easier for new/lapsed players to jump in. They've been releasing a new hero every 3-4 weeks for a long time now.

2.0 is adding literal lootboxes so they don't want to have to feel like you have to buy a bunch of characters AND boxes. The game is actually doing pretty good.

In my recent experience, the Overwatch characters have been pretty good. Lucio and Tracer are...annoying to say the least.

Nexus challenge is the "play x games with friends" stuff that rewards stuff in multiple games, right? Like when they do WoW mounts?

This is a pretty insane promotion. I already own most of the cast and I'm still getting five new Heroes with the Support pack. I think I'll only be short 3 + Genji then?

For new players I'd probably recommend the Assassin or Tank bundles. Lots of fun heroes in both. Assassin has more distance fighters, Tank/Bruisers has (obviously) more of a melee-focus, so choose based on that.

The Flex bundle is comprehensive, but because it has a few heroes which are deeply unsuited to newbies it seems less useful than you might think.
