If Kamiya hated foreigners and thought they were stupid he wouldn't bother speaking English. He'd be like Ichiro Mihara who blocks foreigner access (by IP) to his blog and goes on crazed rants about how foreigners aren't entitled to play his games.

I don't think that's the problem. The problem is people looking for an excuse to shit on Kamiya, people who've already made up their minds and won't be swayed by countering evidence.

I get that the word is offensive to a certain degree, but on a scale of 1 to 10, how offensive is "gaijin" supposed to be? I'm no Japanese culture expert, but it's a little hard for me to believe that it's as offensive as "spic" or something.
