Yep. It's an inescapeable part of life especially on the internet. Complaining about it is like complaining about the fact we need oxygen to live & we can't breathe underwater, it sucks but you can't change people like that. Am I getting whooshed? It might be too late now to hop on the bandwagon, but Nvida are the main AI chip supplier to all big tech (at least for the moment) so their stock has been huge this year (they've entered the 1 trillion market cap territory a few months back).

I mean, as most already know, this type of mentality isn't limited to Gaffers. I see coworkers and family members getting into arguments and even shouting matches at times over basketball/ football teams/ players and stats. I have zero interest in sports, so I have that same confusion when listening to them fight tooth and nail over multi-million dollar athletes who they have never met as if they were their first born. Granted, some of them do bet on games, but we're only talking amounts of maybe $100 or so.
