Here are the rules.

1.The game must be released.

2.The screen shot can not be a bullshot.

3.Do not quote a post full of pics!

4.Post only from N64/PS1/SATURN Generation and up.

5.This is not a thread about which game is better then which. This thread is about visuals and nothing more.

6.Visuals can be based on polygons, art style, hardware.

7.Don't shit on some ones opinion because you think different. Its called an opinion for a reason.

Go ahead.

Mods if you dissaprove, you can lock.

No bullshots are needed. No words are needed so i will just ..........

Xbox360:
This game is just pure art.

Wii:
Although it doesn't have alot of poly's and high res textures. Ubisoft made a very nice looking game with it's own style and nice art. The game had nice particles also.

DS:
So colorfull, but so nice to look at.

You obviously only noticed a third of what I did there.
Because Metal Gear Solid is just too obvious (everything is brown instead of grey), and I never played Toy Commander (but that screen looks like a Dreamcast game, although there were better looking on the platform).

True. I should have slapped a colour filter on. Doh!

When I think about a game that pushes its system to the brink... God of War II immediately comes to mind.

I played through this a couple of months ago on my PS3 and I've never been so utterly awestruck about the scale of environments in a videogame. I mean, ICO and SotC wowed me, but this was something else. Everything is just so.... BIG! EPIC! And to think it is a PS2 game is amazing. Can't wait to see what PS3 and 360 will be pushing out in a few years.

I still think that visually, it's one of the most impressive titles I've ever laid my eyes on. Fuck all that next gen noise, GoW II is where it's at. Artistically and technically.

Too bad about the low resolution when playing the game on a HDTV through the PS2 though. I need a PS3 for upscaling PS2 games badly.

Do you have the PAL version, which has no 480p? I have the ntsc version and on my hd set it looks amazing with progressive scan.

N64: Thats hard... Super Smash Bros. I'd say. Or Turok? I pass on this one.

PS1: Legend of Mana (I never liked PS1's 3D graphics, but some 2D Artworks were just awesome)

GC: Metroid Prime
Don't have to show shots.

PS2: SoTc on a technical level, but Echo Night Beyond did it for me about Style.

Wii: Elebits (Still love that style)

WoW! I have a fetish for lilliput-games! Need to play that one!

If you also like it, you probably need to check out WorldOfPadman which is a free stand-alone game based upon the Quake 3 Engine. Some shots:

Wii:
For some reason Sonic had some of the best visuals on the system.

Xbox 360:
+1 for Capcom, the ammount of zombies on screen in this game is insane:

Being serious now, and no pics as everyone else has posted pics of the games discussed..

360:

1st Place: Blue Dragon - most beautiful thing to grace my HDTV. Colourful, vibrant, varied, great art. Fantasmical.
2nd Place: Bioshock - Teh awesome art and lighting. Mega.
3rd Place: Dead Rising - The most detail shopping center ever ever ever! And millions of zombies!

PS3:

1st Place: Heavenly Sword Demo - Wow @ the draw distance. Just how much you can see and the size of the environments is very impressive indeed.
2nd Place: Resistance - Sure, it looks bad sometimes and it looks great other times. But Angels' Lair looks GREAT. Really f***ing great. What a climax.
3rd Place: Motorstorm - Another mixture of bad and great, the textures and low-poly mountains are dreadful, but the lighting and mud is absolutely phenomenal to make up for it. Overall a unique graphical experience.

WII:

1st Place: Zelda Twilight Princess - Best thing I've seen come out of my Wii (No Metroid yet), again love the art style and sunset lighting
2nd Place: Excite Truck - Locked framerate, good draw distance, nice water, definitely one of the better lookers to come out of the Wii
3rd Place: Sonic - Again, one of the much better looking Wii games that makes it stand out from the rest

Just so you know, I have the best avatars ever.
Well, this thread is a little punishing on the old broadband. Isn't it nice when we all get along, though?
