Joker 2: Folie à Deux Trailer Drops Tonight

It could be a porn movie with Janet Reno, as long as it's directed by Phillips it's gonna be interesting and more than technically sound

First one he descended into madness alone, this time he ascend to freedom (which in it's purest form is madness) having found what he was missing the whole time, a companion. I get some might think Philipps symbolism is too much on the nose, but dudes we live in an era of marvel movies, compared to which Joker is almost Moby Dick...
Yeah but i hate musicals so he can be directed by god itself and i'm still gonna give less than 2 fucks about.

Brendan Gleeson in the trailer? Nice.

Coogan a bit jarring.

People here down on Gaga as Harley? Ticks my mad genius box.

Of course it’s jukebox songs. It’s a film about shared madness; of course that’s going to revolve about iconic pop culture.

I’ll watch it once. Like the original. The original isn’t something you can watch over and over. This looks similar.

Visually it looks great.
But it's giving me oscar bait vibes.

The first one was ok, I guess I'll watch this one when it comes to some streaming service down the line.

How could they make a sequel when the first one caused so much incel violence and mass shootings? Oh, wait, no, that was just a modern satanic panic, nevermind.

Watched the trailer Lady Gaga is an ugly woman. Hard features and unattractive. Also it looks like she is a mental patient and not the therapist that the Joker broke. I really don't care for this version of the Joker, a pass for me.
I'm convinced that the patient Harley we see in the teaser is a manifestation of Arthur's imagination. The finger gun gesture to the head she makes might actually be a huge indicator.

First one was a cool concept for a joker origin story, but what's the point of this....its not leading to a joker vs batman film, so I don't really get the concept or point, apart from milking the first films success.

But maybe I'm wrong, just seems kind of an weird idea

I get you, but off the strength of the first I think it's earned a shot. I'll see what it has to say.

I love leaving a movie theater forlorn, depressed, and slightly more gay ("Not that there's anything wrong with that!") than when I entered.

Curious to see what this one is like, but I hope it's not a bunch of fantasy sequences. There are other more meaningful, less drawn-out ways to convey a character's mental state.

Loved the first, wish they'd just me a regular sequel instead of a musical with a dumbass, pretentious subtitle.
"Folie à deux (French for "folly of two"), also known as shared psychosis or shared delusional disorder (SDD), is a rare psychiatric syndrome in which symptoms of a delusional belief, and sometimes hallucinations, are "transmitted" from one individual to another."

It's actually quite the fitting subtitle for a story about Joker and Harley.

I think it looks good.

But I'll still never understand who is running things at DC. They've been desperately trying to launch some sort of successful comic book movie universe for years with bad movies and diminishing box office. Then they have a super successful dark and gritty Joker movie, followed shortly by a super successful dark and gritty Batman movie. The obvious path would seem to be bring those two together and build from there? Yeah, Bruce Wayne is a kid in the first Joker movie, who cares, you can write around it. Throw some grey hair dye on Phoenix and say he escaped from Arkham 15 years later or something.

But no, those are just side stories or something, and let's get dumbass James Gunn to reboot everything with a bunch more dumb origin stories and goofy humor no one is interested in seeing.

Oh I have zero doubts it's my own ignorance but boy does it get under my skin every time I see it.

That looked pretty dumb. Not sure how much they had to pay JP to do a sequel to completely whole one off movie, but I bet it was a lot.

This is ugly? Come on
.... Yes

Tons of make up and plastic surgery and the end result is still mid

In the trailer Harley seemed just as important as Joker. And that would be fine, but she didnt get a movie to develop her character like Joker did.

Joker was a character driven movie. Seeing him sharing the spotlight with a newcomer character that didnt receive the same development will feel so forced. I just know that I'll hate her.

They'll try to make her at least as important as him, if not more.

I skimmed the trailer and it looked interesting. I like that they did something different with the sequel. Makes me wish that Marvel was as brave with their IP.

I can understand use Lady Gaga for her singing, but...
Isn't Harley Quinn suppose embody the meaning of the Hot/Crazy scale?
LG is NOT a "hot" woman.

Trailer was fine, gags is indeed mid. Can we get them to undo this bisexual joker shit? Like... why do they have to represent someone from the LGTBQIA+ community as mentally unstable? Should be a despicable cishet male. That'll show the patriarchy!

The diallogue voiceover was so….flat? Felt like randoms doing a script reading. Hopefully that’s not in the movie….

It is extremely fitting indeed. Harley and Joker relationship is a textbook exemple of folie à deux, where each individual draw the other along as they both descend into shared madness.

I remember when she tricked the entire world with the poker face video, she looked fabolous in that one.
