Let It Die |OT| F2P roguelike Dark Souls with a skateboarding skeleton

Looking at the micro-transactions... so I have to buy lives/continues? Because fuck that.

Yes, but the point of the game is to survive long enough to make it back to the waiting room with your loot. I look at continues as something you'd normally only use if you died with some really good items or a bunch of blueprints and didn't want to lose them. Or if you had traveled a long way and didn't want to lose your progress. If you continued immediately every time you died, the game wouldn't even be fun.

It's funny that they pitch it in-game as an insurance policy, because that's really what it is.

Also, this is the best game.

Okay okay okay, this game is doing a LOT of things right. The results screen for instance is fucking brilliant and more games need this.

Is it supposed to be up yet on the EU PSN? Because that's the only game releasing yesterday that's still missing.

So it works like this...

You can buy tokens to 'revive' your character where they died.

Technically, however, you can go back and 'retrieve' the character where they died. They won't have any of their gear but you can get that character with their levels and experience back.

You can also earn these lives back by just doing quests. (Got 2 today from quests)

So, why diud they decide to put all the tutorial letters into such a small window compared to the rest of the screen. it's unreadable at a distance I sti from the screen.

How do I throw mushrooms, I couldn't make out that tutorial..
There so much small text. Why do devs keep doing this?

Has anyone beaten the quest Armor Limit 001? I've done what it says a few times but it won't mark as complete. Guess I'm missing something.
Same boat.

Uh, anyone know how to get past level 25?

Each "body" has set maximum values for stats, each one tailored to a certain class. Some are good "all-rounders", some are shooters, some are melee specialists. Each class will have its quirks, and each one will have different max attribute levels.

To get bodies with higher max levels, you have to purchase them in the freezer.

I think they need to nerf fists. I'm max level and haven't died in like 4 hours. Fist speed + how powerful they get + interrupting non-2 handed weapons feels way too easy. Only downside is their rage move thing kind of sucks but that doesn't make me not want to use them.

See this the game i would of paid money for. They should include a 'full game option' but keep the premium stuff for people that want them. I don't see myself playing this for a lot otherwise.

A thing that annoys me is the durability mechanic. It's like its there so equipment breaks = you more likely to die = you spend $$$ on microtranactions. Also why are consumables mapped to the touchpad, i have accidentally killed myself multiple times already. Again i feel this is in place so you are dying more often so you are more likely to spend money on revives.

Also the block or lack of blocking is shit. This game doesn't even have the good combat Bloodborne to justify it. If you see a pack of 4 enemies you are fucked unless you dodge roll like crazy.

holding the O button lets you block, tapping it makes you dodge....yeah it is a bit crap

My character is max level at 25. 5 levels in each category. How do I get a higher level or change to a different class other than all arounder?

Holding O while not moving is how to block. Once you're blocking, you can move.

I also hate the touchpad controls. I keep thinking it's the menu option and accidentally using items constantly.

Play it for about 1 hour. Man, the opening is some good stuff. It's a visual crack. Love the music.combat a bit clunky, but other than that, it is a cool game

Anyone else buy a mushroom stew thing? What did you get? I got this one. Kind of poop.

How though? It only let me buy one body and it was for free and it had basically the same stats as my current guy and now I have no option to buy another body.

Wait, how do you have 50k max?

Beat Coen boss, return to hub, unlock Metro NPC / Raid thing, then under your defense settings you can increase it.

So wait if I understand the Metro mechanic... Players can invade your waiting room. Steal your money and other stuff and even steal your fighters? That may actually ruin the game for me (which I've been enjoying a shit ton.)

I've just been raiding bases for the past hour lol.

I don't know if they can steal ALL of your money but I doubt it since the max I've seen someone with that I've been able to steal is 2500.

You can steal fighters but only if you set a fighter to defend your base I think. The majority of bases I've attacked have had no one defending them. I only have the character I'm currently playing, and then another low level person in my freezer, and the freezer one is on an expedition, so if someone raids my base there's no one to defend / no one to steal.

Also, your bathroom holds the captured players that you steal. On my first raid, I stole one person, and I only have one slot, so I can't steal any more for now. The person I stole is in my bathroom, and if someone attacks my base and breaks the bathroom door, that person is freed (presumably they get sent back to the original player). They also won't become "mine" for like 50 hours so there's a lot of time to get them back I guess.

I mean I guess my issue is that like. Say you stop playing for a week. Then you come back and all your money and such is gone. That kind of sucks and punishes you for not playing daily.

Yeah that would be dumb, but I don't know what mechanics it has against that. I think most games with similar mechanics won't let you get completely drained.

Yeah and problem is that the game isn't very good at actually explaining those things.

Like I'm pretty sure I just raided the same guy twice. So it's kinda crazy that I can keep doing that until they're drained dry.

Edit: Based on the FAQ, it does seem that it is possible for players to fully take all of your Kill Coins and 'soul-things' if you get raided enough. And there is no way to opt out of it. Basically the game forces you to care about keeping your defenses up. If this really is the case, then they're going to lose a lot of players just based on that alone.

Cause while I think the concept is cool, it will become so annoying very quickly. More so if the game stays active.

Also based on their current event they're running for 'raiding', it seems they plan to allow players to attack the freezer and steal fighters from there eventually. Which will kill this game. I got a bad feeling based on the fact that there is no Forum or main reddit page that they're not going to be looking for much feedback.

Finally died for the first time in the fight against Jin-Die. Got her with the free revive. No idea how you're "supposed" to do that one.

This game is really fun, but its definitely not for everyone - or even most folk. Its so, so simple and yet satisfying. Animation reading stripped down to its absolute barest form.

So how do you use a decal?

I bought the one that gives you 3% health back on the damage you deal, but it hasn't proc'd once.

Played for about 3 hrs, really impressed so far.

I can see me sinking time into this if the game balance doesn't start forcing the use of microtransactions on me.

I happy to spend money on such a well crafted and fun game but if it gets exploitive then I'm out.

One of my first draw-ins for this game was it's Rouge-like element of starting with nothing (literally, sense your naked from what I've seen in videos) and taking whatever you find.

Do they handle it well in this game?

This game is so god damn weird. But I'm liking it. Getting used to the controls will take a while but yeah, probably gunna wait till I'm done Final Fantasy till I can really sink into this. Love the gameplay though.

Ok, so how do you actually accept quests? The quest tab in the rolodex only shows ones that you've cleared or accepted, but not a list of quests you can take up. Do you need to go back to the waiting room?

What time is it?
Having a lot of fun but the level cap is a bummer.

Go to the arcade and talk to Kiwako Seto.

That hater element is great, I mean it actively encourages you to kill a powerful built character just to mess with other people and get stuff. It gives a complete other use for death in a rogue like that's actually interesting and beneficial.

Did you equip it?
Yes, it's selected. And I see it on the bottom of screen when I'm playing. Don't know if there's something else I'm supposed to do.

From what others have said, you can buy different fighters with different caps, but I haven't found out how to do that yet.

When I go to the freezer my only option is to buy another All Arounder.

Progress far enough up the tower and you'll get some new mail telling you fighters are available.
