MS promises to bring more first party games to PC

I won't complain if they want to publish Dead Rising 3 on PC. That's the single launch title I want between both new consoles.

Microsoft need to go all or nothing, rather then hitting the awkward intermediate they struck last gen.

Personally, I think they should abandon the platform, it's only going to hurt Xbox One supporting it.

I wouldn't mind Dead Rising 3.... of course not behind a new microsoft storefront/DRM or windows 8 exclutivity.

Not hate, just distrust based on track record.Trust is earned, Microsoft will have to work hard for it.

It would be deliciously ironic if Microsoft's neglect ends up being the catalyst for PC gaming's escape from Windows.

It will probably end up being the case. It's not like they're actively doing anything to promote the continued growth of PC gaming like they did pre-360.

Back to "commitment" for PC. What is old, is new again.
(hopefully a bump like this isn't against the rules, seems like it goes with the topic, if so please nuke my bump)

Phil Spencer talks Microsoft's new studios and its commitment to PC gaming in 2019

Pretty good history of the same promises back in the day.

Oh fuck off Phil.

I'm actually not trying to beat him up, but you would think at some point people would just shutup until they actually get their shit together. Phil claims to have made Games for Windows Live, instead of fixing that, they basically shut it down and replaced it with even more stupid shit on top of the bad client software i.e. UWP. So, now Phil is going to fix the client that replaced his horrible client, I don't think so.

I built games for Games for Windows Live – prior to this, when I ran first party,” he began.

This was 6 years ago!
“I think it’s fair to say that we’ve lost our way a bit in supporting Windows games,” head of Microsoft Studio’s , Phil Spencer, told ShackNews. “But we’re back.

I think he has a tough job, but show - don't tell. You would think someone, someone in the bowels of Microsoft marketing/PR would go, "Maybe we shouldn't talk about this until we actually fix stuff or make something good".

Uh like, Sea of Thieves, Gears, Forza Horizon, Halo Wars 2 all being on PC, with PLAY anywhere and Game Pass being supported and more to come.
Its the whiners who are really all talk. Because even when they actually get games, they'll still jump through 10 hoops to try and make Microsoft or Phil look like the bad guy.
Yes there will always be room for improvement, but you're deluding yourself if you don't think he lived up to what he said in 2013, and will continue to improve now in 2019.

You will never get there because the client sucks balls let alone UWP, whether you like the games or not is actually kind of immaterial, although its safe to say they will probably never release official sales for those games on Xbox let alone on PC. These are the same promises they made going on almost 15 years ago.

Phil Spencer promises to fix Microsoft Store for PC games, commits to powerful hardware
https://www.windowscentral.com/phil...windows-store-games-commits-powerful-hardware

“I think we’ve got a ton of work to do on Windows,” admitted Xbox chief Phil Spencer at Microsoft’s XO18 event this weekend. “Windows is something I’m very committed to, I’ve heard the feedback about our Store. I’m going to take a bigger leadership role on what’s going on with the Windows Store, make it really tailored to the gamers that we know want to see the best from what we have to offer.”

If everything is okay, why is he trying to fix stuff? The wording is rinse and repeat material, without ditching UWP they have close to zero chance anyway. Its not only game/s problem, its a client problem, and a technology issue gamers really don't want i.e. UWP. The solution seems easy on the surface - get good!
