Didn't the major outlets almost uniformly take a dumb on New Blood? The scores I saw prevented me from picking it up in that busy gaming season.

Uh, not quite.

http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/941965.asp

And it's actually quite better than the first in most respects. And those reviewers that "took a dump" on the game promptly got a dump taken on them by the informed few who were wise enough to check out this gem.

Like I said before, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more challenging, original, and fun co-op game that also really fits the Wii and its mantra amazingly well.

Dual-wielding Trauma Center is back! Easy diff setting is fine as long as there's a 'normal' setting as challenging as the first game.

Info on Metal Slug 7? Thanks.

I wonder if it has co-op mode using 2 DS's...I can only dream =/

Still, getting this day 1! Need more trauma center!

YES. I cannot wait for this one to be released here. 96 and 98 are my favorites.

I think the classic controller is the best choice since its D-pad is bigger than the GC's.

Quoted so it's not just on the bottom of page 1. If I missed something of interest to expand on, let me know.

-Remote + nunchuk used to gain momentum
-Turn remote/nunchuk left and right to steer if you're not using the balance board

We Cheer
Licensed music (Hilary Duff, Aly & AJ (who?), etc)
-Geared toward the tweens, also fun for adults (uh huh)
-Use two remotes like pom-poms, follow on-screen commands
-Supports up to four players with one remote each, two player co-op where each player controls one arm
-Choose one of 15 girls to participate in tournaments in single player mode
-Exercise mode has you wear the shoes of a personal trainer to earn money to buy outfits

Chocobo's Dungeon
-Jobs like Knight and Black Mage
-Equippable items boost stats and change appearance
-Tur-based battles in randomly generated dungeons

King of Fighters Collection
-King of Fighters 94, 95, 96, 97, 98
-Challenge mode - each match has conditions to meet
-Four control schemes: remote, remote + nunchuk, classic controller, GameCube controller

Jake Hunter: Detective Chronicles
-Three cases
-Observe suspects, investigate crime scenes, talk to witnesses, collect evidence
-Control with touch screen or control pad/buttons
-Text-based interface
-Menu-based fisticuffs and hidden passwords

Blast Works
-Grab defeated enemy vehicles and weapons and use them to build your ship
-Every vehicle you touch blocks projectiles and has a unique shot pattern
-Position you grab them determines angle of fire
-Four player co-op
-Level-editor
-Send custom stages to friends over WFC

Mario Kart Review
-9.0
-Bikes turn sharper and enable boosts at any time; only one-stage miniturbo while drifting (karts can power up two stages)
-Hold drift to charge miniturbo
-Miniturbos from performing tricks (flick wheel when you hit a jump)
-Wii Wheel better than expcted - best motion control in a racer so far
-New tracks have more detailed visuals, fresher ideas, and stuff going on than retro tracks
-32 tracks
-Not as revolutionary as Galaxy, not as content-packed as Brawl
-No detailed mention of Wi-Fi

The World Ends With You
-9.0
-Good learning curve for complex and creative battle system
-Great narrative
-Lots of dialogue, excellent writing
-Fittingly eclectic soundtrack

Okami
-7.5
-Beautiful aesthetics
-Lots to do
-Controls didn't make the jump as well as they should have
-Pointing and drawing is faster and allows more freedom than analog stick
-Harder to be precise, resulting in recognition problems
-Awkward combat - slow, timed flicks of remote are required for consecutive hits; swing too fast and it's not recognized
-No motion-based fishing
-Issues can be overcome with practice
-Play PS2 version instead (apocalypse now?)

Rondo of Swords
-Draw movement paths through allies and enemies
-Momentum system - enemies target those doing the most damage
-Side quest system for idle characters
-Mix of grueling difficulty and unclear objectives require you to restart most maps multiple times
-No optional battles to raise low-level characters or grind for exp
-Shopping is a pain: have to send a character on a shopping side quest, money spent randomly with possibly nothing in return
-Satisfying to beat difficult maps
-Have to outsmart opponents, you can overpower them

The World Ends With ME!

Man, April 22nd can't come faster.

*nod nod*

Everybody seems positive about it really, seems I was right to believe this would be one of the only good things Nomura has ever been connected to.

Did Rondo of Swords get a low score because of the difficulty? I don't see any glaring flaws from those tidbits. How does NP tend to rate SRPGs?

I'm surprised at how good the review scores have been, for some reason to me it'll be a hard sell for some people that only know Final Fantasy. Let's hope they get some good advertising out.

That's what it seems to be. The difficulty plus the shopping (which I could see being a legit complaint if there is a possibility that your shopping side quest results in a decrease in funds with no increase in inventory).

The strategy/battle mechanics seem good, which is what I would be more worried about.

I want both please. TWEWY ( :lol ) looks like Someone got their Final Fantasy in my Jet Grind Radio...and sounds like it as well (from the website anyway).

*shrug*

The summary of the review comments on motion control for battle don't sound too problematic - Bully's combos and attacks are handled in what seems to be a similar way and it's fine. I'll see when I pick up my copy, but there's nothing too discouraging in the summary.

Pop group. I think they're twins from the Disney Channel or something. Not bad if you like that kinda shit though. It's the album Britney Spears should have put out to make a comeback.

Can't freakin' wait for The World Ends With You. Nomura been rocking lately.

Rondo of Sword review translation: Thinking hurts.

To be fair, the shop system does sound idiotic and annoying. Unclear objectives does make it it hard to come up with a strategy. I mean, if I came up with a strategy to defend, when I'm actually suppose to run like hell, that could cause problems.

Too much work for console play? :(

Never home, sadly. My PSP and DS both get recharged constantly, because I'm always playing them!

I'm praying that rumour that PS2 titles going to PSN will be PSP compatible are true. I'd actually finish a bunch of games I've got no time for...

Where is that rumour? Guess that would finally OFFICIALLY make PSP = PS2 :lol

Can't remember exactly. Just that there are apparently some PS2 games going up on PSN and they have "PS3/PSP" compatible designation. Might be reprogrammed or possibly Slim only (since it has extra RAM)?

And if it's not reprogrammed... with CFW... It'd be heavensent.

You know what's funny? Isn't one of the primary criticisms of the earlier waggle-based combat systems (as exemplified in Twilight Princess) based on the fact that you can swing the remote around wildly and still engage in combat to some competent degree? Hell, when my gf's sister plays Zelda, she fights by twirling the remote like she's about to lasso something. :lol

While I'm cautiously optimistic about how the combat works with the motion-sensing, I don't think that the fact that you apparently have to time your "waggling" is an obvious downside. I suppose we'll see how it works out in the end.

No doubt, even if the controls themselves worked on some perfunctory level, it certainly does not lend itself to being shoehorned into a game with very specific pacing and gameplay considerations designed toward PS2.

Of course, I don't care either way honestly - I already have the definitive edition on PS2 - but I was just commenting that I found it amusing that one of the only reasons the thing came to the Wii has essentially failed, and the only place it succeeded was in some moderate speed enhancement with the paint brush movements which were already blazingly fast and easy to perform on PS2 being designed with analog stick in mind.

Heh, it won't be my GOTY but it has a chance to be on my top 10, at least.

Really? I thought the only reason people wanted to see it on the Wii was because of the brush in the first place. :lol

Synopsis on why N+ only got a 7.0 (zomg too hard?), anyone?

I'm still debating on which portable version to get.

Man Nintendo Power is so boss compared to a year ago. This new company is doing a killer job.
