BTW, DS4 works great on PC, both as generic controller and via that DS4Tool app that emulates X360 gamepad.

At least those peasants can write their own drivers if they really want to. In fact, someone already did.
X1 controller is a step back from x360 controller anyway, the sticks feel so loose and those bumpers are horrible
So, wired 360 pad remains king of PC controllers. I can live with that.

Jesus GAF! No point for meltdowns, it's the exact SAME as the wireless 360 Controller. You need the official wireless receiver to play.
If you want to be upset about this, start being upset in 2008.
Loose sticks already sounds like an improvement over 360 sticks.
So... Sony has the superior controller for PC now?
How so? They can make more money by selling a controller with a dongle to PC gamers versus selling them just the controller. If they release the drivers it also means that people that already have the XB1 controller spend nothing on using the controller on their PC.There's absolutely no way in hell they won't release drivers for the Xbone pad.
It would be pissing away loads of money.
haha, PC gaming peasants.
I was seriously looking forward to upgrading my 360 PC controller.

X360 had the perfect balance, x1 feels like the sticks are greased or something. the only issue, very minor, is the d pad. I still dont like ds4 triggers they need more resistance to them but it is prob 2nd best controller. Sony should release official drivers it would make dolphin emulator experience much better due to 6 axisLoose sticks already sounds like an improvement over 360 sticks.
I know you're joking but it has a trackpad, which is actually pretty nice to use with the latest dstool.

People are mad that Microsoft is circumventing both playing through Micro USB and lying that the controllers people bought now will have PC drivers released.
I think the x1 is better after using it daily, the 360 is a close second though.Isn't the 360 controller better anyways? That is what i seem to see from different opinions.

Sucks for people who already own Xbox One pads, but if you don't it actually doesn't affect you.
Yeah but the real reason I give a shit is because the Dpad doesn't suck. That's all I want: A good Xinput controller with two sticks and a not-shitty Dpad. Right now the best option is the MLG pad which is freaking $100.
I'm really starting to show more interested in the Steam controller.
More likely situation: They're simply not making the drivers available until the windows-specific package that includes the dongle is ready for retail.
Since the pad automatically switches over to USB when plugged in, the drivers will have to support that mode of operation, so once the drivers are available you'll be able to use your existing pads just fine so long as they're plugged in (and even in the unlikely even that they didn't want to provide a separate download for nefarious reasons, let's face it, once they're out in the wild they'll be easily available regardless).
So... Sony has the superior controller for PC now?
Of course the PC would need a new dongle. They use a proprietary and new signal. I thought this was expected.
Now? To me it had the superior controller for PC from the first day it went on sale.
What makes it better than the 360 controller?
Loose sticks sink ships.
I was partially being sarcastic, but the Touchpad could prove worthy for select games. I'm pretty sure it can function as three separate buttons, not including swiping.
Different strokes for different folks. Personally enjoy looser sticks especially after the 360 sticks felt too similar to the tightness of PS2 sticks and had the same problems like drifting and slow turn.
I wish my DS3 was still working . Best controller I ever used besides weird ass triggers.
