Dammit. I have an Xbox One pad sitting here I won't be able to use then.
My stupid fault for believing them.
Wouldn't the wireless dongle need to have the Xbox one controller drivers in order for it to work? This rumor doesn't really make much sense. Either way I bought a cronusmax in order to use my Xbox one pad and KI Fightstick on the PC. Works just fine.
I don't have an xbox one so I'm ok with this. Was gonna buy the dongle anyways (if my current x360 one wasn't compatible), can't stand to play wired.Microsoft’s current plan is to release a Windows version of the controller that would come bundled with a dongle
All Sony has to do is make real DS4 drivers and a dongle and they could take the PC controller space too

Controller is bluetooth and supports USB play, really no need for a dongle.
No dongle needed. It's standard Bluetooth.
Well I was going to buy the Titanfall controller for PC gaming but fuck you Microsoft. Greedy cunts as usual.

We don't even know if this is true yet.
If they are going to sell the controller, there will have to be drivers. Sounds like it will be the same thing as what happened later last generation; you have to buy a controller to get the dongle.
Wouldn't old games have to patch in PS style button prompts if you wanted them? Or is that somehow handled driver side?

If Sony makes official drivers, I think you'd see more devs add an option to change the button prompts. But for older games, yeah, you'd see X360 prompts. Doesn't bother some people, would probably bug me.
So, wired 360 pad remains king of PC controllers. I can live with that.
Would it honestly surprise you if it were true?
At least those peasants can write their own drivers if they really want to. In fact, someone already did.
That's because XboxOne (and XboxOne controller) were beta tested in the future and them PC drivers will only be invented 2 years from now it's basically inception meets back to the future it's complicated please understand.
It is a problem though if the game tells you to press X and that actually means Square.
I mean it's not like it wouldn't work but it's really, really non-optimal. At least with an XBO pad if the button prompts weren't updated the buttons would still be called the same thing.
MS could have made the One complement the PC the way the Vita complements the PS4 but their benign neglect of the platform is now starting to resemble mild hostility.
Why everyone assume this as a fact?

does it really matter when valve's controller is right around the corner ?
I can't say that there's really an Xbone-shaped hole in my PC controller collection, but I do still hope Microsoft can do the right thing and support their products fully.
