Another new character before Doomfist? Sounds good but hear me out:
1)That leaker on Reddit that up to this point was 100% legit, said that Doomfist will be a black guy so that kinda refutes the idea that this "Hammond" animal will be Doomfist.
2)They already said that the next character will be another tank (in fact they have Doomfist's abilities ready and just toying with the looks). If we count Orisa, that would mean 3 tanks in a row and that's very unlikely.

Maybe this is some kind of PvE event like Uprising and we fight against Hammond? And maybe later down the line he'll be another playable character.

They havn't been doing that since Sombra though. That's why we get sudden event updates and a PTR to go soon after. If this trend continues, PTR should be updated soon with this.
