As a Third Party developer/publisher after seeing those kinda charts you have to aks yourself....why even bother ? When even Nintendo is kinda struggling with their stuff, how likely is it for other publishers with less known IPs to make their money.

This. The single player is a good way to learn how the multiplayer functions works. Instead of getting a screen up that tells you what to do and how things work, you're pretty much playing through it instead. I also enjoyed the single player.

It seems that it has to rely on word to mouth only. I was kinda interested in Starhawk, but i kept forgetting about it many times before release. I had hardly seen any talk about it, and not a single ad for it. I dont think that this will change (mostly thinking about the ad part) in the upcoming time. I remembered to order it a few days before launch.

The fact is that I think we have to understand the context. It's all relative: if a game still is in top 40 after many months, it's having legs, even if general numbers are low...because it could be lower. This is also appliable to games out of charts which then demonstrates in some ways they're still selling something. And also, UK ( you're referring just to UK Charts, right? ) is just one country. If we see a game in many charts still many months after its release, we can certainly say that it's got legs in the whole Europe.

I hope this situation will change in the next couple months, lets see what e3 will bring us in term of interesting portable content which can sell.

So far, the only games, except for Mario titles ( M&S too ), with possibilities of making top 40 / selling, have been: both RE, Star Fox, Kid Icarus, FIFA 12. They all appeared, and KI is still appearing. I don't think anyone expected seeing things such as Tales of the Abyss or Rhythm Thief, unfortunately. Neither low class releases such as FunBox ones. One Piece appeared in top 30 in Germany, and in the specific 3DS top 10 in UK ( while in the Wii one both the chapters never appeared in the specific top30 ). MGS could have done better if not released just after the HD Collection...Tekken is a flop with no excuse, and here in Italy is still promoted by Nintendo itself, lol XD
Things will become much better with other good releases incoming. KH, Theatrhythm, Luigi, Animal Crossing, ...

The clear thing right now is that in UK there's certainly a problem compared to other countries in Europe with reception of 3DS software right now ( or maybe, handhelds software as a whole ) It can be noticed just with the two Marios.

It worked fine for other franchises like CoD, Halo, BF, MoH, etc.

<3k for a AAA release in the UK is pretty much the death knell for current gen gaming in the UK. It's launch week is about 10x worse than Sniper Elite.
