Activision’s ‘Overwatch’ (-44%) holds on to the crown for a third successive week, just beating off the challenge from EA’s ‘Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst’ debuting at No2.

The original ‘Mirror’s Edge’ was released on previous generation consoles PS3/360 back in week 46, 2008 and was something of a sleeper hit, having sold through only 60% of lifetime sales after 12 weeks (most major titles are usually north of 80% over the same number of weeks). Bethesda’s ‘Doom 3’ takes a third consecutive week at No3 (-28% ) and Sony drop 2 places to No4 with ‘Uncharted 4’ (-45%). In the week where Euro 2016 finally kicked off, Konami’s ‘UEFA Euro 2016 Pro Evolution Soccer’ makes the Top 10 for the first time since launch 8 weeks ago, up 6 places to No8 (-4%). Nintendo debut at No15 with 3DS ‘Kirby: Planet Robobot’ and completing the Top 40 new releases is Big Ben’s ‘Sherlock Holmes: The Devils’ Daughter’ for PS4, Xbox One, PC at No37.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst felt like the Mirrors Edge game that should have been made 6 years ago. Not the Mirrors Edge game that should have been made in 2016.

Well that's the end for Mirrors Edge. Unbelievably U4 still top but I'm sure aided well with bundles.

Mad to see 2 PS4 football games outsell one on Xbox and one which is PES. Konami must be estatic to be outselling Fifa again. Surely the first time in a very long time.

Looks like a bump for SW:BF...bundles?

Or are we talking a difference of 100 units that far down the chart?

Week 23, 2016 - Individual Formats (Units)

01 (01) PS4 UNCHARTED 4: A THIEF'S END (SONY COMPUTER ENT.) ~ 10,500 / 290,500 (-45%)
02 (NE) PS4 MIRROR'S EDGE CATALYST (ELECTRONIC ARTS)
03 (02) PS4 OVERWATCH (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD)
04 (03) XBO OVERWATCH (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD)
05 (04) PS4 DOOM (BETHESDA SOFTWORKS)
06 (NE) XBO MIRROR'S EDGE CATALYST (ELECTRONIC ARTS)

Hopefully any website that reports UK sales will tell us the split for Mirror's Edge: Catalyst.

But it looks that most sales were on PS4, probably at least 65% PS4 - 35% XBO.

holy shit, Mirror's Edge sold less than 10k?

Edit: Saw wrong, only PS4 sales.

It doesn't even feel like Mirrors Edge came out. Felt like there was no hype build up, barely any marketing, etc.

Not surprised it didn't sell well.

[Week 46, 2008] 20 (NE) MIRROR'S EDGE (ELECTRONIC ARTS) -

[Week 10, 2009] __ (__) MIRROR'S EDGE (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 3,481 / 258,984 (LTD after 17 weeks excluding PC SKU, so I guesstimate around 230,000-240,000 for its first 12 weeks)

[Week 23, 2016] __ (__) MIRROR'S EDGE (ELECTRONIC ARTS) ~ 400,000 LTD (Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3)

It's a big-budgeted game funded by a huge publisher. The fact that it's a first-person platformer doesn't automatically mean it's niche.

The budget just means they spent too much on it, while being published by EA means fuck all when they also publish games like Unravel.

The first game was a cult classic, pretty much the epitome of niche interest gaming, and this second attempt is just the same, but without the benefit of being something original.

That doesn't make it a bad game, just hardly surprising it sold such low numbers, especially with fuck all marketing behind it, not that that would have suddenly given it mass appeal anyway.

Being a game from a big pub doesn't make it automatically not niche. It sold exactly like a niche title.

Of course, because there are plenty of big publishers out there willing to support smaller games. But being a game with a lot of money poured into it like Catalyst, complete with production values designed to appeal to a wide audience, means it isn't niche. It just happens to be a sales flop.

LOL! This new Mirror’s Edge isn't going to sell even remotely close to the old one. Any chance of good legs is gone with the low review scores.

Niche has to more do with appeal. ME has very low appeal to the average gamer.

Really? will they be ecstatic from 4k sales in the biggest football market.?

Original Mirror's Edge had metascore of 78 (and this was when review scores were even more inflated than today). It wasn't critical acclaim that sold the game. It was word of mouth.

Uc4 legs impressive.

Ok, again. WHERE are those impressive legs?????

2 week drop: -78%
3 week drop: -37%
4 week drop: -27%
5 week drop: -44%

Now, can you guys seriuslly call it legs "impressive"?

If is first or second or third means nothing, really, i don't think you guys understand what "legs" mean.

Yeah, I agree. I didn't even realise it was out until the following week. Seems like a foolish time of year to release it, as a lot of gamers' attention is elsewhere.

Impressive that it's held on to the top spot despite competition from Doom, Overwatch and Mirror's Edge? EDIT - I've just looked back at previous topics, and it lost the #1 spot to Overwatch on PS4 on its launch week, but then went straight back up there.

Is there anything (semi) official regarding the UK market in 2016?

For the last ten weeks or so rankings for PS4 and Xbox multiplatform titles seem no longer samish at all. The Xbox always seem to lag a few places behind the Xbox. All that while the PS4 has the two exclusives in the top 10.

Is the market turning or the effect of Uncharted in the off season (=small in absolute number and short lived)?

Is there another exclusive title this gen that held so high in the UK charts this gen?

It's impressive in the sense that UC4 has had tons of major competition since launch.
Still hanging around the top 3-4 as an exclusive for a while now is positive.

Was always gonna be a front loaded game in any case but I can see it being a chart mainstay for a while.

i think point he is trying to say that percentage drop is more important than how high the title is in the chart especially in this time of the season when you dont need much to reach the top of the chart.

And this is also individual chart not even combine chart where the top is a little bit high atleast.
