‘FIFA 17’ (-79%) dominates the All Formats Chart at No1 for a second week, ahead of 2K’s ‘Mafia III’ which lands at No2 with the biggest ever launch in the series.

Debut week sales for ‘Mafia III’ are up 58.7% compared to the launch of ‘Mafia II’, although the previous release managed to chart at No1 when it came out over six years ago. ‘Forza Horizon 3’ (-71%) makes way, slipping one place to No3, while ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ (-1%) jumps up 6 places to No4, still enjoying the benefits of a retailer promotion. ‘Rocket League’ (-18%) is still proving popular, up 3 places to No5, while ‘Bioshock: The Collection’ (-43%) and ‘XCom 2’ (-40%) both slide two places to No’s 6 and 7 respectively. Take 2 however can comfort themselves with the fact that they have 4 titles in the Top 10. It would have been 5, but ‘NBA 2K17’ (-50%) drops from No9 to No15 this week. Only 3 other new releases make the Top 40 – ‘Paper Mario: Color Splash’ is new for Wii U at No14, ‘Ride 2’ starts its engines at No20 and ‘Warhammer: The End Times – Vermintide’ squeaks in at No34. Next week ‘FIFA 17’ will be up against ‘Gears of War 4’…

Great hold for Forza, like I said I expect it to continue to hold strong throughout the year. Gears launch is going to be interesting.

GTA5 is a phenomenon.

Drops of -79% for Fifa and -71% for Forza are both well above franchise averages, but I feel like game sales are getting even more frontloaded over time.

where have you lived all your life? lol

could've told you that without these charts :p

I guess in a small sheltered bubble where SotC is regarded as a masterpiece, the first three Call of Duties are the only ones that matter and the FIFA demo is the only FIFA that is played.

Those FIFA numbers are pretty interesting. Seems like a good chunk of people only buy FIFA every two years instead of annually.

Nice to see that at least Paper Mario is still on the chart. Unlike Fed Force.^_^

Unlike Fed Force, the previous game in the series was the second best selling entry in the entire series. Normal people clearly didn't hate it as much as The Internet so this one doing okay was never really in question. Even in the land of horrific taste. :)

Probably helps that the demo wasn't god awful this year too. The keepers barely worked in the 16 demo.

The games position indicates a big ol' bomba though. A few thousand units in a depressed market.

I think the mega PS4 sale a few weeks ago can be accounted for the large drop in sales of FIFA. Not a massive surprise, but the size of the drop for Forza is quite something.

Drops of -79% for Fifa and -71% for Forza are both well above franchise averages, but I feel like game sales are getting even more frontloaded over time.

Also, in Forza Horizon 3 case you could get it one week earlier via the Ultimate Edition. Well, you can also had access to FIFA 17 earlier with the Xbox One S bundle but for a game that sold over a million units that doesn't make any difference.

Those FIFA numbers are pretty interesting. Seems like a good chunk of people only buy FIFA every two years instead of annually.

Not really, FIFA is one of the most consistent series ever, every entry sells around 2.5 million in its launch year.

[Full Year 2010] FIFA 11 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 2,390,231 (100%)

Why do people even buy physical versions of Rocket League? It's been a while since it was on Plus, but it's not expensive at all on PSN (physical version is more expensive!) and having it digitally makes it easy to boot up for a few quick games.

What's happened to Deus Ex? Bomba?

I thought it reviewed well and is supposed to be a good game? 40 and falling so soon after release is not a good place to be.

Any comparisons for Paper Mario: Color Splash? It seems all right-ish considering it's so late in the game for the Wii U, it's the UK, and it's not like the game was riding a wave of hype.

Well... he only really comments on the rarer occasions Sony/PS4 news can be seen as negative so its more part time.

I remain convinced he's executing a masterful troll TBH: he never overdoes it and his posts seem carefully judged to get just the right reaction.

Well, I've never seen him comment on any upcoming games he'd like to play - it's mostly only sales/financial related stuff. At the very least, we can summarize that he's not really into gaming.

I remain convinced he's executing a masterful troll TBH: he never overdoes it and his posts seem carefully judged to get just the right reaction.
This is true and mirrors my own analysis. It really is very calculated- however, he called all of Sony's Studios lazy and deserved to be fired (which got him banned) and just recently returned from a ban about insulting the mods....so, he's not always batting a thousand.

Next, you guys are going to tell me Noobie will kidnap a Sony rep and give a monologue about "one bad day" while torturing said rep, right? :p

Noobie is a genius if you guys are right. :0

Quick search says this isn't true. Amazon/Tesco have it for £15. Also the physical version comes with some DLC which isn't in the base digital version.

Deus ex continues to drop like a rock feels bad man
In other news Xcom selling pretty well hopefully enough for a performance patch, those 7 minute loads at end game are unbearable
Mafia selling well is great I need to put more time into it.

Well genius is probably more than I meant! Just noting that - the odd meltdown aside - he's normally very careful with how he words his little barbs and I think enjoys playing the role his initial bias carved for him these days.
