You know what? Newcomers can just play one of the 10 dozen action RPGs aimed at people that can barely move their mouse. I hope that at least one game of this kind is made that is aimed at genre veterans.

This will be amazing game and i really need a beta. I think its the right time to start to 'spam' their boards a little :p
Two videos to help make the wait better.

EDIT:
Our current plan is to have it work as follows: Vendors have a set of recipes of currency items that they offer for given combinations of items you put in your side of the trade. Players can try out different combinations of items to see what the vendor offers. If they find an interesting recipe, they can keep it to themselves or share it with other players. Each vendor can have different recipes based on what they specialise in.
Interesting. It's like FFXII's bazaar system. I'm not a huge fan of that system but maybe they'll fix it's problems.

Better? I hate You now ;\

Just tell me, why all games need to be released in november/december?
I'll probably get into Path of Exile in November, Torchlight 2 will be probably out November/December, Diablo 3 beta near end of September and then Skyrim and BF 3 ...
Runic should be smarted and just release game now, when the hype for loot games is reaching sky.

Remember: It's only onerous DRM if it's a game people want (to pirate).

wow, this looks what I thought, years ago, Diablo III would look like. And that's not a knock against D3, not at all - I'll buy it and play it, DRM or not, "grimdark" or unicorns and rainbows. It's just that... dunno, somehow PoE's artstyle is appealing to me. That sorta realistic yet dark, oppresive, environment. Love it!

It doesn't follow my boycott rules because it's F2P and actually has reasons to be online only. This basically came out of nowhere for me and I'm so excited.

Have you guys seen this character skill tree?

I said HOLY CRAP!

This is only the passive skill tree, too. The active skills are actually represented by gems that are placed into sockets. Don't think diablo, though, once you have a gem in a weapon/item, you can get that skill up to level 20. The gems are not locked, and you can have up to 4 gems in an item.

If there are multiple sockets in an item, it is a possibility that they will be either separate or linked. If they are linked, you can have "support" gems that actually increase the linked active gems' power. You can have any combination of support/active gems when they are linked (1 active gem and 3 support gems to make that skill more powerful, or say 2 active gems and 2 support gems that make each active gem more powerful). Yes, there is a lot of depth here.

This game is sounding so awesome, hopefully it will release a few months ahead of Diablo 3, so this game will have a fighting chance.

This isn't an entry in the Exile series?

I want a followup to Blades of Exile :(

(nevermind. I guess there were another 2 Exile games, albeit under different titles).

I just finish listening to this, really interesting.

Something that I catch (correct me if I got something wrong):
-24 characters slot (since people will just make new acct anyway)
-No respec, but leveling is a lot easier
-At max difficulty, players will send to random dungeon to avoid constant farming the same area
-Any character can be transfer into "hardcore mode". If you die in hardcore mode, you keep all the items, and your characters will be convert back to normal character. All character can only be transfer to hardcore mode once. Absolutely no items in Cash Store that can change this.
-More beta keys in PAX (someone give one to me =/)
-Cash Store will sell stuffs like alternatively skill animation, dye, armor skins, etc.. nothing that will affect gameplay.
-Release still unknown :(

You mean horrifying.
I have arachnophobia

me too, man *shudder* That was both awesome and horrifying for me. I remember I was scared as FUCK when I had to go down into the spider dens in Diablo II back then... I think I'd be still a bit scared now. The fucking arachnofobia gets the best of me.

I've started playing Titan's Quest while waiting to get into this. I wish I had played TQ earlier, considering I've owned it for a year. I only got to play for a few minutes but it's fun so far. Found a super rare item right away and sold it for some quick cash. I love these kind of games.

Titan Quest, dood. I'm going to be playing it multiplayer.

I love Titan Quest, but I always abandon it mid-campaign. The pacing is just terrible, there aren't really any memorable battles other than 3 or 4 cool bosses (including the final ones) and the game is too long for it's own good. Also, you start getting the good loot like 30 hours into the game =/

I've never played it for more than 3 hours. Whatever. I'm going to have fun and you are going to be so disappointed you're off doing not fun things

I guess no one on GAF actually received an invite to the closed beta then?
Apparently not. It sends out a new invite every ~30 minutes so we're bound to get someone in eventually.
