Personality change after neutering your cat?

This topic makes me wonder; why isn't it called castration?

You're essentially removing testicles and that's considered mutilation for humans so why is it acceptable for pets? I've never owned a cat or dog but the idea of that practice seems harsh to me.

Also, is there a version of vasectomy for dogs/cats?

We still have kill shelters, so we still ought to neuter pets.

I don't know about cats, but I had a dog once whose personality changed dramatically after he was neutered. On the other hand, my other dog is perfectly fine. You probably should though.

Also, FYI never let your cat outdoors. Cats are an invasive species and will destroy your local fauna. Cats are one of the worst killers of bird, reptiles and amphibians.

My cat got mean as fuck after he was neutered and he still is to this day seven years later. He was the sweetest little kitten before then though. He still is most of the time, but when he doesn't get his way he goes into kill mode.
