Damn, I'm slacking. Only 600 Magikarp caught.
That is a pretty absurd number of any pokemon to capture. Like, unless you did all your catching at the same place, Drowzee must be the most common pokemon everywhere you go.
Meanwhile, I am apparently an expert at avoiding Drowzee, the fifth or so most common pokemon in the WORLD. On my way to 142, Hypno was the third to last pokemon I got. And that was by catching a Hypno. I still don't have enough candy to evolve a Drowzee.

Jesus Christ that's a lot, I used to be pestered by drowzees the first month and now they've all disappeared, it's pidgey etc I hope it changes again soon
I think I've seen more Hypnos than you did Drowzees. I sometimes see upwards of 3 Hypnos per day.

That's the ideal attacking move set. Psychic or Seed Bomb (depending on preference) is best defensive charge moves.

I got 3 of these guys, no bubble and hydro pump yet, but I got bubble/submission and mud shot/hydro pump... the former is good for gym defense, latter for attack, bUT they are still outclassed by bubble and pump...fuck :/

At least he's not an XS. All my evolutions seem to be XS. I had another one just now. Same for my niece and brother as well. Are we doing something wrong when we evolve?

I would recommend waiting to hatch a magikarp and getting good iv. magikarp from a nest have bad stats

Dex at 114/114. New pokes today: Machoke, Aerodactyl, Nidoking, Marowak. 17k from level 23 as well. Good day.
It wouldn't matter at what trainer level you evolve your Pokemon because your Magikarp's level and IV will predetermine how how high it'll go, which is Magikarp's current level and much higher CP unless things have changed.
GPS Tracking still garbage today, But I saw a Ghastly, Snorlax and Voltorb and hatched a Tangela.

Snorlax has spawned in the same area a few days in a row. So im guessing it's a spawn point. Anyone know how long for another to spawn after one despawns? This spot was pikachu last week.
Also I cannot for the life of me catch any Eevee over 500cp no matter what combo of Berry+Poke Ball I use they all run after the first attempt. At least im up to 50 candies through >100cp Eevees. ;c

Probably. I've seen four Drowzee in the wild (plus one hatch). That's tied with Pikachu and Grimer for my lowest among evolving pokemon. It's actually lower than my counts for Aerodactyl (5), Snorlax (7) and equal to the number of Dragonites I have (4). To be fair, I put in actual work to find and catch those, and by the time I thought I might have to for Drowzee, I caught Hypno instead.
I spent significant time catching in like ten different locations across five cities to catch 'em all, so it's not like I just stayed in the one or two places in the world that aren't infested with the silly things.

First day of classes in my final year of college. It's the first time I've really been downtown since Go came out and god dang all the lure and stops all over the city. Every direction i look around, stops as far as the eye can see. This must be what Mufasa was showing Simba
To be honest, IVs dont really matter much. Getting the correct move set is way more important. U lose like that, 5 or 6 HP at max? They had a nice thread on the Silph Road Reddit about it. It's fun for min-maxers to find a perfect IV mon though.

It's true that the correct moveset is more important. But nothing prevents Niantic from fixing the combat at a later time. They have done that with Ingress. So, I'd still focus on trying to get the highest IV with the correct moveset.
I'd like it if they're bought using stardust. That or have a move tutor that uses stardust.

Saw there was a Dragonair in the park by my house on nearby and enough time to walk over and catch it, frickin' thing runs after one ultra ball =/

So apparently someone just discovered that you can swipe up during battle to bring up a menu to swap pokemon in the middle of a fight. I still haven't tried it yet but this does seem like a decent shakeup for battle strategy. What's more, apparently this has been a thing since the beginning. Typical Niantic.

This is why I decided to get almost 700 magikarp candies when I was in Seattle at a magikarp nest. I evolved my first one and got Tiwster. Oh well, I'm only 50 away from another one.
At least my second Poliwrath got Hydropump today after my first one got Ice Beam. I'm gonna keep both tho, the ice beam one will be a good defender.

I thought the thing that was new was the discovery that you can swipe up to get that menu, but it's always been accessible using a button in the bottom right, just above the run button.

Yea, I was wondering why people were so excited if it's just a maybe quicker way to swap?
Unless they mean when you are training a gym and the swap button isn't there?
If it's just the former, are people seriously that unobservant?

I think the general rule is that full bar charge attacks are good for attacking and half bar/ third bar charge attacks are good for defending
?
Seems more likely they're mistakenly hitting the bottom right change Pokemon button. (And swiping up on an iPhone usually brings up the iOS blind.)
