How does it work here, never bothered to catch/evolve one before.

Feebas has a 5% encounter rate by fishing anywhere on Route 119 unlike back then where it was only available in certain tiles, and like others mentioned just raise its beauty to a high level.

There's a small percentage of finding a Feebas on every water tile on a particular route now rather than just a few randomly chosen tiles.

A Mega Salamance is also pretty OP. It swept most teams that did not lead off with a Fairy. Get one Swords Dance up and its pretty much done.

I do wanna try Speed boost/baton pass Blaziken though as it is just as OP.

Kangaskan + Gliscor+ Chansey is foolproof

Yea Gliscor and Chansey are both pretty OP. I used Jellicent instead of Chansey and it worked out alright too.

XY is probably easier than ORAS, but gen 6 in general is easier to catch shinies.

Never has happened to me but I always try to avoid grass as much as possible until I get past the intro and get Pokeballs. The intro is unavoidable but I'd hate to see a Poochyena that's shiny shortly afterward even more.

My first ever shiny SR was with Pearl for Palkia long ago even before I knew of RNG, and I got a lonely one in less than 30 tries. Obviously all the others afterward were either dumb luck (Raikou LG), RNG abuse (everything in Emerald, and going forward now with Gen 3-5), preserverance (Thundurus W, Mewtwo LG, Mesprit Pearl).
