So what happens to the Select and Start buttons? Are they integrated into the touchpad?

There is no Start or Select button anymore.

It has an Options buttion which will most likely replace the Start button.

Up to developers how they want to use the trackpad (which can mean using it for whatever they had select intended for). No big deal.

It'll be clickable, so if there's a need to use start/select for BC games, 1 click for start, double click for select possibly. I think they can work around the need for start/select in native PS4 apps and games.

Have a fun! Enjoy!
Doubt that is correct. The size of the triangle shape of the DS4 light-bar should help both with z depth determination and angle determination (by measuring delta from corner to corner).

Are there any updates on whether or not the PS4 Camera will be bundled with every PS4?

Last time I checked it was unconfirmed and yet I see people intrigued by the camera-dependant DS4 functionalities mentioned here.

& it also looks like it will make the Analog sticks touch sensors kinda like the Mouse Pointing Sticks on Thinkpad laptops if that's the cause PS4 should be top choice when it come to Console FPS games

You sound like touchpad is better than dual analogs for fps. It is worse.

Mouse > Analogs > Touchpad

Mouse > Analogs > Touchpad

What are you talking about?

I was talking about the Analog sticks being touch sensitive so you can do even more precise movements.

That split screen thing is pretty awesome. Problem is no games use split screen all that much any more.

It's a trap! Sony is using the PlayStation4 Eye to keep track of your emotions when you are playing games & the controller tracking helps them to know who to track if it's more than 1 person in the room.

They will know that you smile whenever Tina wins in Dead or Alive.

True, also you should be able to use the stereoscopic camera capability of the PS4 Eye (not the only use for the twin cameras, but I think it would be a good use of it) and let's not forget that the DS4 has high quality accelerometer and gyro sensors, better sensors than the ones you find in PS Vita and the older PS Move unless I misread things and they did not compare it to the PS Move, but they did mention that internal developers pushed SCE to use higher quality sensors.

I'm iffy on how reliable it could get, given limited viewing angles, but that would definitely be nice.

So I found this tweets from Mike Bithell the Dev of Thomas Was Alone, very interesting:
@mikeBithell: I do believe #project2 is looking good enough to show to Sony tomorrow... :) TO BED!

@mikeBithell: you'll know the success of this meeting in a year, when you are / are not playing it on your PS4 :p

@mikeBithell: I just held a ps4 controller.. Really nice.

@mikeBithell: can't say much more about PS4 controller, it was only a prototype, but it feels tight, suits my hands, and is rather snazzy

@mikeBithell: they've also done something aesthetically that I'm not sure I've seen in images online which I really love.

The last tweet is very interesting.
