"Rollercoaster Tycoon 4" headed to PC for "holiday 2014" (don't get excited)

Not a single word in that description sounds appealing

Well, look at it this way, it only took a year or so for SimCity to drop their MP and social shenanigans, so holiday 2015 we might have the RCT we all want and deserve.

Yep. very sole reason. RCT1&2 sold more and they want go back to this style because it's so popular and made for microtransaction city builder gaming.

I'm just pro pro 3D rendered.

Your statement is still ridiculous. Do you seriously think it would have changed ANYTHING if the mobile game was 3D? The fact a 2D game is probably cheaper to produce (thus, more money) doesn't mean a 3D game would've been released without microtransactions (and bad gamedesign to optimize revenue) everywhere. Not if 2014 Atari has anything to say about it anyway.

3D or 2D is a preference, but that has absolutely zero to do with this.

Its a decent game, but its nowhere near as good and charming as the first two.

It's every bit as good, it is just that the focus is different. RCT 1 and 2 are primarily management sims and 3 is pretty much exclusively a theme park builder. The sheer amount of stuff you can do in RCT 3 is insane, especially with mods and all that, RCT 1/2 don't hold a candle to it.

Granted the graphics have aged worse due to their nature but at the time it was a pretty impressive looking game when you had your whole park decked out.

*Enters Thread*

EUROGAMER REPORTS ATARI ARE TURNING THE AMAZING 3D ROLLER COASTER TYCOON 3 INTO A MICROTRANSACTION WHORE FEST THATS 2D AND COSTS $400 FOR THE FULL GAME.

Soo EA must of fired the people behind Simcity and they moved to Roller Coaster Tycoon. Only logically reason why they would follow the same route after all the hate EA got.

Well, 3D is probably cost more to development, so they might rather go for a traditional retail title, with full price to get money back quickly. It could go for the different direction in a good way like e.g. Tropico 5, but it could be bad way like EA with SimCity 5.

Is there a ItsHappening Ron Paul gif where he's being shat upon over & over again?

I feel like there should be. And it would now be apropos.

Sometimes I wonder what happened to video games. The problem is that even if it spits on everything good about gaming, it probably already earned the creators a bucket full of gold from all those casuals who don't care.
