probably not though, that's the funny part.If everything about Next Box becomes true, it's going to end up as a major catastrophe.
Yes it would be "yours" after the sub was over.
People would buy the $500 model because it would be cheaper in the long run. Sub models usually mean you pay more but it small chunks. Given the $200 price difference the sub most mean at least 4 years of Live, or offer something other than just Live.
Of course Microsoft wont market the always online functionality as something negative Or how do you mean?I still think the next Xbox will sell out on Release Date. I don't think the always online functionality will be marketed negatively.
They already have this system for Xbox 360. You can get a Xbox 360 for $99 if you subscribe to Xbox Live for 2 or 3 years.subscription? ROFL
I'm guessing people will see the $300 price, see that you have to subscribe to XBL for x number of years, see it as a good deal because they would get XBL regardless
As anyone weighed in on how reliable this guy is?
he's one of the more reliable people when it comes to MS rumours. As anyone weighed in on how reliable this guy is?
umm people who have been following him for a while now would know this to be true. Not everyone is perfect but he is on the beat when it comes to MS.People say he is super reliable, but no one has back the claim up yet.
Same price as a launch ps3.
And without 360 BC
$500? Something isn't really adding up, unless Kinect is that costly.
Yep! WiiU it is...

Yeah, I think the subscription model is definitely one of those things that GAF immediately sniffs out but the general public will eat up.

I'm still betting the next Xbox will have BC, which is one thing they'll have over Sony, but the 499 price point is very believable.
Is there any reason Sony wouldn't match Xbox on the subscription thing using their PS+ service?
holy shit, that price at the subscription point?
If true:
Goddamn take out the fucking Kinect and EyeToy garbage out of your systems, Microsoft and Sony, the 1 1/2 genres that it isn't absolutely abominable for aren't worth the goddamn added price. It also makes me petrified of the next PS4 price.
If false:
Can Microsoft not even have a single shred of positive news/rumours leading up to the reveal of their new system? It's like the worst pre-system buzz I've ever seen.
Or Live just got hell of a lot more expensive. I can't image a 4 year contract. 2 years max. I'm going to guess it will be $10 a month.
Didn´t eat the 360 one up.

rumored Dual APU upgrade
Sony is probably unfamiliar with a device subscription-based model.
Premium price for a premium brand - Deal with it
rumored Dual APU upgrade
Yeah, I think if Sony offered a years worth of PS+ along with the PS4 for maybe $400 and advertise that you get free games, themes, betas, and more with it the. They could easily beat out Microsoft. (That's assuming they decide to not charge for online). Saying that they have free MP and no always online with it would kill MS's advertising.Yeah, I think the subscription model is definitely one of those things that GAF immediately sniffs out but the general public will eat up.
If Sony doesn't offer something similar they may be 'priced' out through it. The numbers are more important than the details.
As anyone weighed in on how reliable this guy is?
I really hope that's the reason. Please be the dual APU and get rid of the always online internet connection please.
I can deal with the other crap.
The presentation also mentioned an IBM CPU. Honestly I wish people would stop referencing that stupid, outdated , non-technical document. The original MS leaked powerpoint presentation mentions BC.
I'm guessing people will see the $300 price, see that you have to subscribe to XBL for x number of years, see it as a good deal because they would get XBL regardless
i've lost it if people buy this.
I guess it depends on which franchises they moneyhat.
American consumers happily plop down $200 and sign a 2-year contract every two years for the latest iPhone (or Android) device. And they do this GLADLY because it avoids a $650 upfront payment.
You are the minority.
