I stand corrected then.
I don't see them releasing MK9 until 2018 so it doesn't really matter.
Yeah, I'm still confident that Mario Kart 9 is still in development phase. I'm certain that it don't really take entire team to work on the mobile game.
Can't wait to see what they have in their sleeves for the NX.Nintendo All Stars Kart pls
2018 is a long time.I stand corrected then.

Exactly. That's why I'm not sure if we'll get a Nintendo Kart/Super Smash Kart game anytime soon.....at least in name. Mario Kart is too big as a franchise to drop.If the DLC did well for Nintendo, I could see the inclusion of more non Mario franchise characters but the "Mario Kart" name is probably too valuable to drop.
Holiday would give it a much needed push for its second holiday.2018 is a long time.
I'm hoping for Holiday release on 2017.
Why can't Nintendo just hire the project m team 😞

2018 is so long time for us the Mario Kart GAF.

Sure. But I'd be willing to wait longer than get something rushed and unpolished.
You're talking about the same company that "desperately" needed Mario Kart 8 for 2013's Holiday season and yet, they didn't have a problem waiting till May 30 of the next year to release it.
P
I'm sure it was worth the wait

I wouldn't dare to ask for rushed Mario Kart. I know they would deliver with whatever they could do. Just that I'm ready to move on with new game but I bet we would comment on how Mario Kart 8's item distribution is better.
It's not neccesary to drop Mario Kart title if they are going to do it. I'm sure that they probably find a way to associate it with the brand.
Pretty sure the Mario Kart team is involved with Miitomo right now.
afaik, the MK producer Hideki Kono is in charge of the mobile division.
Quick note on this, Hideki Konno is the lead producer on the Mobile platform, the same way he was the lead producer on the 3DS platform. It just means he is in charge of some of the features built into the platform/account system. It's independent from the Production Group he manages (Mario Kart / Nintendogs).
The entire EPD Division is making NX and Mobile games.
That's just it. I don't doubt that they would add more if Sakurai gets involved. It's a question of if he'll be involved given his extended vacation. This might get problematic if they want Smash NX at launch. Though if Nintendo does stagger the release of the NX devices & puts the NX Handheld out first (like what's being speculated), they might have some time to wait for Sakurai's return by having the Smash 4 port target the possible early-to-mid 2017 launch of the NX Console.
It's also hard to hire a modder group that has also since disbanded.Do you know how game development works?
Because hiring a group of modders is not a solution
I'm not a Dark Souls fan at all, but I wonder if they'll port any souls games over to NX. Perhaps DSIII GOTY edition or something.
I think we've gotten to the point in the industry where it's so expensive to make AAA games that you put it out on as many platforms as possible, and if the NX can run the game and use all the modern day engines, why the hell not?
Ditto for Tales. Baba may only like PlayStation but he's not the one footing the bill and taking the financial risk with these games. If the heads of the company want an NX and PC version, he's gotta deliver.
I doubt it. The only way we see From games on a Nintendo system is if Nintendo pays for it a la Bloodborne.I'm not a Dark Souls fan at all, but I wonder if they'll port any souls games over to NX. Perhaps DSIII GOTY edition or something.

They'll find an excuse to not bring ports over like there not being an audience there. Heck, wasn't that what they said about dark souls 2 on wii U?
But have they tried before? Has there ever been that kind of game on the system before? That's not really an excuse though.
Though then again, now that I think of it, have there ever been any From games on Nintendo systems? Just out of curiosity.
They did a couple handheld games (a recent 3ds game monhun spinoff) and like 1 GameCube game.I feel like that "no audience" comment was probably more a polite way of saying they didn't want to bother investing in all the R&D for a Wii U port considering how small the Wii U install base was at the time. DSII on Wii U would have been a niche among niches.
If NX is simple enough to port without too much effort there's really no reason not to have your game on as many platforms as possible, I would think. Just theoretically though. I don't think there's an actual anti-Nintendo ideology at From and regardless, a port might be Namco's call anyway.

Only the two best. Lost Kingdoms and Lost Kingdoms 2.
And Tenchu 4 on Wii, and also Cookie & Cream on DS.

Edit: or two I guess
I may be LTTP on this but I didn't read that as Namco working on Smash. I read it as "Namco working on a bunch of games for NX and also there is a Smash in development (somewhere)."
It is major news given the history of Nintendo's lack of third party support since the Super Nintendo.Major third party publisher is making games for a console! News at 10.

Wii U is the only Nintendo console to literally have no 3rd party support, all the others had several noteworthy projects from at least Japanese developers, even exclusives.
Bayonetta 2? Hyrule Warriors? Monster Hunter? Smash Bros?
Literally no noteworthy 3rd party exclusive games.

Bayonetta 2 is a third party project, the IP is owned by Sega. These are not 3rd party projects. (and barely noteworthy to begin with. Monster Hunter was old, a new Mosou game comes out every 3 months).
These are not 3rd party projects, except MH. (and barely noteworthy to begin with. Monster Hunter was old, a new Mosou game comes out every 3 months).

Did Nintendo kill your family or what is your issue?
You said literally no third party support. As in, absolutely no third party support exists at all. You never said new IPs. You never said they couldn't be mosou games, nor did you say they couldn't star Nintendo characters.
I named off four games made by third parties. And Showme then named off a fifth after my post.
You were wrong. You can hand wave third party games away as much as you want. It doesn't make you any less wrong in what you said.

Especially since the Wii U has more noteworthy third party games than the N64 ever had. It even more or less matches the Wii, with only the Game Cube having a stronger showing.
Err as much as I agree with you about it having some 3rd party that's a bit much.
Hyrule Warriors wasn't even published by Nintendo in Japan. Calling it 1st party because it uses Nintendo IP is a stretch.
Nothing about your post seemed rhetorical. Especially since the Wii U has more noteworthy third party games than the N64 ever had. It even more or less matches the Wii, with only the Game Cube having a stronger showing.
Huh?
I'm gonna need some names of these 3rd party games. Please list.
Basically the first year of AAA ports, a zillion LEGO titles, some Let's Dance/Guitar Hero, movie tie-in games, Minecraft, a really large list of indie titles, plus some other random 3rd party titles.

That first year of AAA ports didn't include many games that PS3/360 got. It was pretty embarrassing tbh.
