It doesn't surprise me, Japan has a big smoking problem I think, especially among office workers. When I was visiting there, I was amazed at just how many people were smoking outside their office, or inside those smoking booths they have. I am grateful they had those smoking booths, that way people like me who don't smoke can avoid the smell.
ya bro, but the weed does, amirite? The pros literally don't outweigh the cons.

He's an exceptional person and an exception to the rule. For you perhaps. Depends on who you are, David Lynch has smoked for like 60 years and he's doing great, wouldn't be the same artist without it.
Well, I never argued that. The pros literally don't outweigh the cons.

Show us on the doll where the marijuanas touched you.ya bro, but the weed does, amirite?
While I enjoy a cigarette every now and then (use to be a daily smoker for 10 years) I think the recent shift in people's perception of tobacco smoking as a negative is a good thing. The people who have a menstrual cycle over it (cigarettes) need to STFU.
Oh, and weed is awesome.
There's a SHIT load of tobacco lobbyists in the US, that's why you never hear a president speak of the ills of the tobacco industry and how they must be brought to justice for all the lives they're responsible for (knowingly lying to people about it's damaging effects for decades). But constantly talk about the war on drugs and how we must get rid of all the bad drugs that don't kill nearly as many people as cigarettes, combined. Tobacco companies make more money now than they ever have. The sudden public turn on cigarettes always struck me as a nudge + propaganda. I grew up with parents who smoked at least a pack a day (each), and it wasn't until around 2000 that the stupid things really began to stink, IMO. I never noticed it growing up, and, man, most people's parents smoked anyway. It might have been because I moved across the US to Seattle that I really began to notice just how bad cigarettes smell. It just strikes me as something that they might have added to turn people off from smoking.
What kind of cigarettes are you smoking? and can I have some?this explains the Italian plumber tripping on mushrooms
You can still smoke almost anywhere in any Vegas casino to this day. I find it both terrible and awesome at the same time.I remember watching a Youtube video where a casino staff room has an indoor smoking room. That certainly mind boggled me since it has been illegal to smoke indoors since 2007. In Britain at least.
Either way, nothing too outrages. Pretty amusing more than anything.

I never said it was harmless. It didn't. I smoked pot a couple of times when I was younger... but that's not the point.
I just don't get the current propaganda on weed (including on the media) and the obvious stupid denial on its bad effects to health.
You're inhaling smoke, man, there's no mental gymnastics that can change that.
It's evolved into pro/anti marijuana debate, apparently. So this is a thread about somebody who smoked.
?
Well that escalated somewhat. It's evolved into pro/anti marijuana debate, apparently.
It's for pussies.Well that escalated somewhat.
Ok, so what's the view on vaping?

The current propaganda? Are you serious? What about the racist propaganda from the thirties that's been perpetuated to this day, less so admittedly, but still.
The truth is that it's not nearly as bad as you think or want it to be, there's no mental gymnastics that can change that.
Google William Randolph Hearst Marijuana and tell me that's not racist. What the hell are you talking about? What racist propaganda? I'm not from the US and am not aware of it, even so, this is completely out of the discussion.
Demonizing cigarettes while at the same time praising weed when both can cause the same diseases. Doesn't sound like hypocrisy to you?
Then you get current movies, series, twitter and even games with a "weed is good/cool" narrative... You don't think that's propaganda?

Also, you don't have to smoke THC you can take it topically or orally. And we both know you can't do the same with nicotine and have the same effect as smoking.
Show me the concrete evidence that states cannabis use causes cancer like tobacco use does, I dare you. I sure as hell can't find any, those scientist must be spitting pro weed propaganda, huh?
the sheer process of smoking is unhealthy, but there is a difference in inhaling first hand chemical smoke vs. staying in front of the factory and getting a little second hand smoke. You don't have to read much further than the first couple of paragraphs to find the info. Funny enough, you won't find many US papers on it, I wonder why... You're welcome
CANNABIS USE AND RISK OF LUNG CANCER: A CASE-CONTROL STUDY
To determine the risk of lung cancer associated with cannabis smoking.A case-control study of lung cancer in adults ≤55 years of age was conducted in eight district health boards in New Zealand. Cases were identified from the New Zealand Cancer ...www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
All it says is that long term cannabis use increases the risk, which I never argued, where as with tobacco you're almost guaranteed to get cancer because your average tobacco smoker smokes way, way more than your average cannabis smoker. HUGE difference. You conviniently ignore that. You don't have to read much further than the first couple of paragraphs to find the info. Nice try though. Now I've read your evidence, have you read up on the racist propaganda from the 30's or did you conviniently ignore that too?

not to say long term cannabis consume wont do anything, but cigarettes are definitely much more unhealthy.
So you didn't read. Got it.Aout William Randolph, I did read. Yeah, government passing laws and propaganda to influence public opinion to their own interests, wow, what a shock. How is that different than denying bad effects to pass the narrative that weed is good?
lol that's called marketing. if it was propoganda it would be pushing a political narrative. "weed is legal, let's market it" is not a narrative, it is a fact. also on the scale of things being glamorized in movies, i put weed waaaay down the list below "Surveillance State", "Military Might", "Anti-Family Values", "Abortion", "Nihilism", etc. if u pearl clutching over weed your priorities are wack. Then you get current movies, series, twitter and even games with a "weed is good/cool" narrative... He is no longer kid friendly. Please ResetEra cancel Shigeru he's a bad influence to our kids' health and safety!Cancel Shigeru Miyamoto!
Seriously, people will make articles out of literally everything nowadays.
Then please send me a link with proper information instead of the lots of nonsense about how weed would make better fuel than oil.So you didn't read. Got it.

that said, everyone used to smoke, everywhere. i was watching Pink Panther movies and he was smoking in the bathroom getting ready for bed. the tobacco companies used to market to kids with cartoons, i don't see how Vice documentaries and Netflix specials are really any worse.
That's not racist?Government/elite influenced public opinion to get what they wanted and used black people and weed as the scapegoat.
