KRYPTO THE SUPERDOG

Warner Bros. has announced a Krypto The Supderdog animated series to join Cartoon Network's lineup in spring 2005.

The announcement was made Tuesday by Warner Bros. Consumer Products at Licensing International 2004 in New York.

Here's how the show is described:

"Krypto The Superdog chronicles the comedic canine adventures of Metropolis' day-saving superdog from Planet Krypton. Krypto jettisons to Earth after traveling across the galaxies as a test-pilot puppy aboard a malfunctioning rocket ship built by Superman's father. Landing astray on unfamiliar terrain, the fully-grown Krypto swiftly seeks out companionship on Earth and flips over Kevin Whitney, a young boy who too longs for friendship. With an amazing array of super hero powers, ranging from heat vision to super strength to flying, Krypto partners with best pal Kevin to fight evil forces that threaten the safety and well-being of the people and animals of Metropolis."

Twenty-six episodes of Krypto are currently in production.

Warner also provided a new description of The Batman animated series:

"The new series is a totally fresh take on Batman -- in his mid 20's and only in year three of actually being a super hero. When he's not Bruce Wayne, the hip young billionaire bachelor CEO of Wayne Industries, he's The Batman - an urban legend in Gotham City. To help him fight the criminals of Gotham City and bring them to justice, he has an array of unique Bat-gadgets, vehicles for every terrain and situation that are operated by a remote control system he refers to as 'Batwave,' and spare Batsuits planted around the city, ready to be accessed at a moment's notice."

Warner also announced a total of 52 episodes of Teen Titans will air on Cartoon Network and Kids' WB! through 2005, with Season 3 set to launch in mid-September.
Geez Louise... The Man of Steel continuously struggles in vain to get his movie franchise off the ground, so now a fed-up Krypto runs off, lands a cushy job starring in his own cartoon series, and to top it all off he gets a new owner?

"Man's best friend" indeed.

The only think that could make this better are appearances by Streaky, Beppo, Proty II, Comet, and a SuperSpecial appearance by WHIZZY - Decendant of famed Supercat Streaky.
