The Loud House’ Creator Chris Savino Fired By Nickelodeon

Just a day after Chris Savino, creator of Nickelodeon’s hit animated series The Loud House, was suspended from the show amid allegations of sexual harassment, Savino has been fired. Here is the statement from Nickelodeon spokesperson:


Chris Savino is no longer working with Nickelodeon. We take allegations of misconduct very seriously, and we are committed to fostering a safe and professional workplace environment that is free of harassment or other kinds of inappropriate conduct.

The Loud House, which is currently in its second season, will continue to air on Nickelodeon and be in production. Season three is scheduled to premiere in early 2018.

According to Cartoon Brew, as many as 12 women came forward to accuse Savino of harassment including unwanted sexual advances and threats of blacklisting after relationships with co-workers had ended. The site said the reports date back at least a decade.

Savino’s credits include Rocko’s Modern Life and The Powerpuff Girls. The Loud House is the first show he created. It follows 11-year-old Lincoln as he gives an inside look at what it takes to survive in the bedlam of a large family, especially as the only boy with 10 sisters. It launched in May 2016 and last October was renewed for a third season.

They must have had some hard evidence if they saying it like this. Usually it's just a "No longer employed" or "No comment"

Unfortunately I fear he may be far too entrenched in the system for it to be as easy to fire him as it was for Savino. The guy behind one show is different from the guy that pretty much makes the entire catalogue of live action shows for them. He is several ladders above Savino. Not only that, if the allegations are true (not just women but underage actors and actresses), the news that Nick has been harboring him for a decade would be disastrous for them.

Pretty much. Yes, the guy is a creepazoid. Still, unless someone comes out and accuses the man and/or shows us the proof, people are just repeating the same 4chan meme.

As for Chris Savino, fuck outta here and good on Nickelodeon for firing him.

On one hand there's no hard evidence of him doing anything, but on the other hand people acting like this is all just some kind of 4chan meme are also in the wrong because it's been going around before that. If there's one thing we know for sure, it's that he has a foot fetish.

Yup. Though in Skyler Page's case it might have been tied to a mental breakdown. The circumstances weren't clear. Although maybe that was CN just trying to cover their asses by making it look like he was mentally troubled instead of being a creep.

The good news for animation fans is that Clarence kept on trucking for many more episodes after Page got fired, and Page was the actual voice of Clarence (surprisingly, the man who took over as showrunner could imitate Page's Clarence voice very closely)

Around the time of his sacking the anime crew even went public that Skyler Page was also largely uninvolved in most of the creative process. His creator credit came more so from pitching the original concept of the show.

Dan Schneider is a big fish. I honestly don't think the pedo stuff will get exposed with large companies like Disney and Viacom. That stuff is heavy and I bet it involves some very connected people. Brian Peck was caught but he was not nearly of the stature of Schneider.

The problem isn't that it might have originated on 4chan, the problem is that it's a rumor with no basis behind it except people thinking he's creepy and has a foot fetish. A fair argument about him that I've seen made that has tended to spread is that he over-sexualizes his female teenage characters, but that doesn't automatically mean he's a sexual predator, and making that leap without any accusations just seems foolhardy at best.
