So I've been here for a little while, and noticed there's a lot of Daves/Davids/Davors here. Probably because we like to advertise our names more than others, it is after all a fantastic name.

Let's hear it for all the Daves!

Fuck Yeah. Now this I can get behind. You should flesh out the OP with various regional meanings of Dave / David and then see if we can list some Great Daves. Wasn't TheGreatDave banned? Do we need another?

I suppose I'd better confess, I'm not actually a 'Dave', I'm a 'David'. Dave just works better with the Smoky prefix.

Oh god, I wish. If I was called Rodney, I'd insist my friends called me Dave.

My favourite Dave has to be this guy:

David Smith, driver of the Monster Jam truck 'King Krunch'. A giant amongst Daves.

This thread has brought a warmth to my icy, corporate heart and I am inspired to welcome all Daves and Davids to my company. No Dave shall go unemployed a day longer!*

* - The only positions available are in the coal, salt and acid mines. Not separate mines, mind you, it's a single mine full of coal, salt and acid--as a result, turnover** is rather high.

** - 95% of the turnover rate is worker-fatality related.

In the grand scheme of things, first name Davids are pretty overrated apart from Hume, Lynch and Foster Wallace.

Surname Davids, however, have an ace up their sleeve:

David Bowie wants a word with you. Afterward, D.H. Lawrence is going to give you a stern look.

Let's not forget, some Daves are secret Daves. Dwight Eisenhower? John Le Carré? Sam Peckinpah? All Daves.

If ever I did meet David Bowie, I would congratulate him on his wife. That woman does not look a day over 35. smh

I was unaware about Le Carré--certainly add him to the list--but David was only Ike's middle name!

Excellent thread! Almost got the double name Lars-David at birth but thankfully ended up with just David.

More Davids!

Wow, we just watched a Virgin Dave pop his cherry.

If you're going to get banned, get banned in this thread. Circle of life 'n' all that.
