Don't forget what I told you!

Just one thing...

My car broke down.

I'm Joe Namath.

It was just vapor lock! Vapor lock! Vapor lock!
Despite the infamous vapor lock scene, Namath is RETURNING to The Simpsons next year... probably while intoxicated. Because that's Joe's normal state these days.

Four Regrettings and a Funeral - “Kent Brockman has decided that local news has been a real mistake and a terrible career move for him,” says Simpsons executive producer Al Jean. “He wants to interview with a big cable news channel and goes to Fox News.”

In a moment of truth during Brockman’s meeting at the Fox News, Aaron Sorkin appears in a thought bubble above Brockman’s head and advises the anchor on whether or not he should work for the cable channel. Joe Namath and Gordon Ramsay also make brief cameos.
Based on this title, I'm guessing we're going to have a series of short story sketches focusing on the regrets of various supporting characters (Brockman being one of them).
And somebody/something dies. Perhaps another Snowball.

Monkey on horseback?

Having said that, the bed bug thing was a bit crap, but the Tapped Out ad was the funniest thing I've seen from the Simpsons in the last 15 years. Great to hear Maurice LaMarche doing the voiceover, too.

Can we seriously think about changing the thread title, it's very work unsafe if someone glances it over my shoulder.

While I agree with you in the abstract, it serves as a good reminder that I probably shouldn't spend a lot of time browsing GAF while I'm at work : /

Never noticed this before yesterday... In Cape Feare when Homer screams OH MY GOD, as well as the whole family rushing out to see what's happening a random mouse comes out his hole looking worried.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ooooh AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Well Mr. Burns had done it
The power plant had won it
With Roger Clemens clucking all the while
Mike Sousa's tragic illness made us smile
And Wade Boggs lay unconscious on the bar room tile
We're talking Softball..

I recall seeing a list of film directors with the most references in The Simpsons a year or two ago. I can't find it on the web, though. I think the top one was Kubrick.

One of my favorite aspects of The Simpsons is that you can always tell the writers were huge fans of guys like Woody Allen, Kubrick, etc. So many references to so many old movies and tv shows.

From Maine to San Diego
Talkin' Softball
Mattingly and Canseco
Ken Griffey's grotesquely swolen jaw
Steve Sax and his run-in with the law
We're talking hoooomer
Ozzie and the Straw

(all from memory)

Only thing that bothered me about the song is Griffey's head was huge, not his jaw.

I somehow missed this episode back during its original run. Fox25 in Boston showed it on a rain delay of the Red Sox game back when they used to carry the games. Was a huge baseball fan at the time and was FLOORED at how amazing the episode was. Laughing the entire time.
