Makes sense that Trump, to pander to a base, would be in line with evangelicals. Not because he gives a shit about God or Christianity, he probably thinks Jesus is the guy that mows one his golfcourses, but because evangelicals as loud and "look at me" as he is - caring more about the outer appearance, showmanship and certainly themselves above all else. Perfect marriage.

Heh. That's funny. I went to a dinner hosted by Pastor Jeffress and his church a few years ago - I was dating a woman went to that church. She knew I was atheist but pretty tolerant of hearing folks preach and stuff.
Anyway, he took questions from the congregation at this dinner, many of which were politically pointed. He tried his damndest to stay apolitical then.
For reasons I won't bother going into, he always came across as super slimy, so I'm not too surprised to see he's in bed with Trump. Hypocritical trash.

I don't feel that way. To say I was miserable back then would be an understatement. Unmotivated, nihilistic and a danger to myself. Now that that's behind me, I've never been happier or more hopeful.

The ending really gives away his ignorance of history and nuclear proliferation. He puts the hypothetical to Russert; "Do we really want North Korea placing nukes aimed at New York " and other cities?
That was what the entire fooking Cold War was about. Both the USSR and USA aiming each other's nukes at their cities, and yet, nobody preemptively launched a strike at anyone, much less threatened "fury and fire" at random times.
And neither did they launch it against India, Pakistan, Israel or even Iran.
