What we need more in gaming?

More crunch. Less focus on accessibility. A finished product being the goal for developers. More fun. Fewer people taking things so seriously. No more calling fans of games 'veterans'.

RTS games. Arcade action racing games (Burnout, Motorstorm). Less focus on graphics, more focus on gameplay and AI. Less of trying to make movies, more of realizing that you're making a video game that can actually react to a player's actions.

Man I put so many hours into Burnout Takedown when I was a teenager. Just fun as fuck, smashing your car into pile ups and gliding it in slow mo. Back when games were actually fun and not just movies with a few button presses.

Genuine, pure and unfiltered craftsmanship from the big devs without some accountant overseeing and meddling in their work. Taking chances and throwing cash at new bold ideas that don't feel and look like they were artificially and unnaturally conceived from a test tube.

Indies and AA are already doing it. We just have to get AAA+ back on the same track.
