The third animated Madagascar film has beaten Ridley Scott's Alien offshoot Prometheus to top the US box office.

Madagascar earned more, so it's obviously better

Having seen Prometheus, I would say Madagascar 3. At least there you will have an intentional laugh.

Depends on your mood. Want great sci-fi and blood and guts? Go see Prometheus.
Want to laugh at another zany talking animal CG movie? Then see Madagascar 3.

Also, I think the name "Prometheus" turned off the average movie-going dummy. There were only like 20 people in the theater when I went yesterday.

As though the other choice isn't? I mean, it's pretty much still applying the same alien cliches. Lowest common denominator my bullshit.

I find some of the arguments here kind of laughable too. "Don't watch the other one it's a sequel" ignoring the fact that Prometheus is, for all accounts, a prequel.

Umm... guys, Madagascar 3 is pretty good.
I hated the first one. Thought the second one was okay. But this one was really, really good. Dat villain.
