Man...Avatar Rumble 2 + 4 controllers it is guaranteed fun !

PS: Some codes were already used so I tried another one

Some of the games had codes already used so I had to grab more than one (mostly the yyr ones).

These games now pushed me past 200 Indies owned. So yeah, I was pretty into XBLIG...

Sorry if you grab one of my codes and it says it was already used. I swear, I only posted codes that the system offered to let me redeem, so I have no clue what happened...

I'm glad that the delisting was pushed back to October 7th =) I'll update the first post.

If you take something, please bump the thread to increase exposure. I'd love it if every last copy of these games was taken and enjoyed! And of course, if I receive any more codes I'll continue to post them.

So I got this e-mail from Holmade Games...

Hi there!

We're about to give away all of our remaining Xblig promo codes for all 6 of our title via a publicly shared google drive document (first come, first served) . We're going to put the post up on twitter and Facebook. I know, hopefully people share nicely ;) These include Hurdle Turtle and its two level packs, plus Hurdle Turtle 2, Pixel Whirled and Ocean Scenes.

Our neogaf forums account hasn't been activated yet, would you be able to post the link in there? People should put an X mark next to codes they've grabbed.

Thanks so much! Xblig forever! We're hoping to port them to PC in the next while, too.

So, I received this email telling me that the sunset will start on October 7th and that they are still looking into an option to archive those games so they can be played outside 360.

Hmm. Either the games are being removed as I write this, or it's just temporary and the trial downloads are being taken off a week in advance. Hopefully it's the latter.

Ooops! What happened to this page?
We’ve moved some things around.
etc, on some of the US/UK marketplace tabs I've got open.

About half of the 40+ tabs, ha. But they seem to be back now - including the trial links which were missing from some of the other pages.

If you take something, please bump the thread to increase exposure. I'd love it if every last copy of these games was taken and enjoyed! And of course, if I receive any more codes I'll continue to post them.

I just wanted to say you're awesome for doing this, and Falling is a lot of fun. Thanks!

OutCa5t3r continues to come through for us =)

I'm around with even more.
It's an amazing experience how supportive all the devs are!
Developer Daivuk answered my request super-fast and was so kind contributing a bunch of codes for his game Procrastinating Squirrel.

The guys from Big Rook Games (http://bigrookgames.com for more exciting stuff) found a few leftover codes and donated to the giveaway!
The keys are for a top-down shooter called Undead Empire: Hellfire.

I also have a surprise for all fans of strategy games.
France-based developer Andreil Games (http://andreilgame.weebly.com/) donated big time - some of the codes are for Pioneerz and some are for Little Kingdom Advanced.
He made even more games (you can take a look here http://www.xboxindies.com/dev/andreil-game) and in case people are interested I am free to reach out to him for keys for his other games.
He told me there are updated versions on PC for a bunch of his projects, for all the gamers interested.

Codes were also sent to me from Michael Hicks, who can be found at http://www.michaelart.net
Like his homepage already reveals: Creativity and art are a huge part of his works.
If you enjoyed Braid perhaps Pillar could be a worthy experience for you?
Or, shoot up high in the air with Honor in Vengeance I & II!

Please note that a version of Pillar exists for both Steam and PlayStation 4, in case you enjoyed and want to give something back or are just up for some trophy collecting...

Descriptions of the games in this giveaway post:

Pillar

Annnnnnd we're back with more! Thank you OutCa5t3r!

here I am again :)

I really have to hurry now, cause there are only 4 days left...

This time's about Swiss-based Tchagata Games (www.tchagata.com) providing me a Google sheet with codes of their games Maison Kanraku and Nandeyanen!? - The 1st Sutra.

Maison Kanraku is a really crazy humorous game and Nandeyanen!?, a shooter and a great game, has music that is simply fan-tas-tic!

Everyone picking a code please be so kind and mark it as "used" - thank you!

Kudos to Tchagata Games for contributing!

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fpCF27P6_DfvMWr9ldvLRoRmDMUXJ_G209gR4CVtBVI/edit#gid=0

Please continue to post if you take something, to improve the visibility of this thread. Any further contributions received will be put up on a Google sheet, so that all can enjoy, even non-NeoGAF members.

Bumping for others to see with just a few days left.

Thank you yyr and OutCa5t3r for doing this. And to all the devs for their codes. I got lots of free games in here. Even bought a few that had all the codes claimed.

OK, we're back with even more!

The next contribution comes from Carl, the developer behind Small Cave Games.
The codes are for Orphidian Wars: Opac's Journey, and every gamer up for a slightly Metroid vibe should definitely take a look!
Carl didn't know anymore how many keys already have been given away, so just pick as much as you need to make a working one pop up!

Next, I got a bunch of codes from developer Ingeniousfun (www.ingeniousfun.com) for all of his games.
It's about girls, zombies, skeletons, island beauties, kisses, quests, a witch and even a nurse and in case I didn't mention it - more girls *g*
Puzzle games, adventure games, a quiz, a shooter, a platformer - different tastes are covered!
In case you like what you saw and want more, don't hesitate and visit Steam for the latest project of Ingeniousfun: http://store.steampowered.com/app/683440/BootyBuns__21/

OMG, it gets better and better :-D
I am back with more game keys, this time for turn-based Miasma and Miasma 2.
If you are a fan of for example the X-Com series, you just have to have this!
It looks stunning and plays well.
Contributor is David Addis from www.esp-games.com - thank you a lot!

And look what the nice guys from JForce Games (www.jforcegames.com) sent to me, so our farewell celebration can grow:
It's codes for their game Murder Miners - you can find it also on Steam with the help of this link (http://store.steampowered.com/app/274900/Murder_Miners/)

More codes are coming tomorrow, so stick to this thread and don't forget to tell your friends!
Enjoy the games :)

The Miasma and Miasma 2 codes are on this Google Sheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q-TZkP8zfd9a0cO7ZCWgZMAavBRPbmu1wShBv2s1Rog/edit#gid=0

All the rest, as promised, are on this sheet here (EDIT: ALL GONE but new games added, as seen below)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oNvbvhz-VV2wpmrH5S92kE0HFUG5iJ411WjqmUbrQUE/edit?usp=sharing

If you take a code, please mark it as taken on the spreadsheet(s), and if you're on NeoGAF, please also reply to this thread to increase visibility! Also, make sure to redeem the code on xbox.com or on your Xbox 360 by this Saturday, 10/7! Here is the link to redeem a code:

I like it when you can only leave a comment (right-click the cell), not edit the sheet. It's too easy to accidentally press the wrong thing, like Ctrl+V when you meant Ctrl+C, and overwrite one of the codes. (don't worry, when I did that one time I realized I could press Ctrl+Z to undo it, but it seems prudent to prevent it in the first place)

...this Google Sheet:...

I was able to get quite a few of these, thank you to everyone for doing this.

I wonder if the games' custom icons will continue to populate after the service ends? Their loading is kind of spotty as it is...

I'll see if I can make this change tomorrow...as you maybe could tell, I have little to no experience with Google Sheets =\

We didn't get any more codes today but there may be more tomorrow. Delisting is scheduled to begin in just 2 days so please spread the word, bump this thread, and please, redeem your codes! Thanks to everyone helping me keep these games alive. =)

EDIT: seems that the Google Sheet is fairly popular. If the opportunity presents itself, I'll try tomorrow to fetch some of the codes stuck in ModBot and add them to the Google Sheet.

Multitasking is great. Falling is also great. I'll be checking out a lot of these other ones next week.

I went on a binge buying indie games a buck at a time. So many greats... does anyone have or know of a resource for XBLIG games which are exclusive to this service, with no other release?

I bought so many $1 games with Paypal sending the transactions through to the bank that somewhere the pipeline got froze up (probably triggering a flag to identify suspicious activity like fifty identical $1 charges), now I can't buy anything on XBox anymore, and I'm on with billing support. :|

EDIT: this all reminds me how really dumb it was that 360 had no cart/checkout system.

A massive thank you to all the XBLIG developers. I've been a fan of the service since day one and I consider it a really important part of gaming history.

I've taken a few codes, and bought a few of the trials I had, to make it a nice round 80 titles. There is such diversity here and I hope that Microsoft stay true to their word and allow access to these game for years and years to come.

Bought another 20 or so games this evening and picked up some of the codes listed. Thanks for putting this together yyr and the other devs posting codes.

On another note I do have the main listing of current XBLIG backed up now. Not sure if the page is staying up after the delisting but if not I'll at least have some basic info (box art, sales position, release date) about each game.

OK, it looks like this is it. OutCa5t3r writes:

well, that's how it goes...
The one time I actually promised something, it seemed to not work out in the end *lol*
I got in contact with two developers who assured me to send the codes they were about to contribute yesterday, but nothing came in.

Today however I had an eMail in my inbox from Ryan who developed Light's End, a story-driven RPG (www.lightsendgame.com).
He sent a whole lot of codes :)
There haven't been that much Role Playing Games on the XBLIG section compared to other genres, but many gamers love RPGs, so I think this is a great addition to our farewell giveaway!

The Google Sheet now contains these. All of the previous codes in the Google Sheet were taken, so those were removed. Same address as before:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oNvbvhz-VV2wpmrH5S92kE0HFUG5iJ411WjqmUbrQUE/edit?usp=sharing

Please check back. Over the next few hours I'll be grabbing a few codes back from ModBot and adding them to the Google Sheet. (Please grab from Modbot if possible so that as many folks as possible have a chance...thanks!)

Delisting begins TODAY, Saturday, October 7th, so if you take any codes, please immediately redeem them at https://redeem.microsoft.com
I cannot guarantee that any of these codes will work after today.
Also, please bump the thread to increase its exposure =)

A HUGE thank you to OutCa5t3r for doing so much legwork. This thread would not have been half of what it was without his efforts. A big thank you to all of the generous developers for contributing their games, as well as creating them to begin with! And lastly, thanks to all of you who grabbed copies of these games. You may not have paid us anything, but simply by enjoying these games, you are helping to keep the legacy of XBLIG alive. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I remain locked out because of a transaction stuck pending. In talking with Microsoft apparently your account can get locked down if you send a suspicious number of transactions through.

Support will no doubt clear it up shortly, after the delisting. :(

Rough week for the all digital future. Just found out about this and the Wii Shop, on top of AIM. Grabbing a few games that sound like fun, thanks to all of the developers contributing and especially yyr organizing this thread.

OMG...AIM is shutting down soon?! Wow.

So I put 30 of my own codes into the Google sheet. It was kind of surreal to see folks taking them as I was posting them...hehe.

Unfortunately due to the fact that I have plans today, I don't have time to do this anymore. If anyone is feeling generous, please go ahead and request a few codes from ModBot (particularly the ones on this page, since there seem to be many available!), then add them to the end of the Google sheet. If several of us do this, we'll be opening them up to a much wider audience...one that will be extremely grateful, even if they can't thank us here on NeoGAF. Thank you, in advance, to anyone who does this.

Please continue to enjoy XBLIG!

EDIT: OMG WE HAVE MORE, ADDING NOW

surprise, surprise :-D

It's really down to the wire now, but today a bunch of keys from Rendercode Games (www.rendercodegames.com) came in and I wanted to try to hand them over in time.
Perhaps some readers of your thread are able to redeem them, if they try quick enough...

OutCa5t3r also had this to say:

After that done now, I just have to say a lot of "Thank you"s :)
It was a wild ride the last few weeks, I had a lot of fun and got in touch with so many nice people - I feel extremely grateful that this thing got so big!
It almost makes me melancholic when I think of this to be considered the end of XBLIG and our farewell celebration...
I want to thank everyone involved - of course all the developers donating so generously, you @yyr for having the initial idea, constantly taking the time to keep the thread updated and posting all the stuff I sent you, every reader of this thread for picking, experiencing, enjoying and appreciating all the games put up here and even Microsoft *g*.
I'm not really a fan of this download-only thingy, cause sooner or later there comes the time when delisting and shutting down begins and that really bums me as a collector, but well, at least they gave us some more time and with putting up the XBLIG section as a playground for smaller devs they made this possible in the first place.

I so hope to be this a "See you soon" instead of a "Goodbye" and that's why we need your help!
I ask everyone stumbling upon this thread after the delisting dates 7th/8th/9th of September picking some of the leftover codes: Please try out if they are still redeemable and let us know!!
With the help of yyr doing all the work in this thread I would go on for a bit in that case...
All I can say is that it went that way with delisted Xbox Live Arcade Games - if you were lucky enough to find a key seller online with a few left in stock you could still redeem them, cause Microsoft keeps most of the games somewhere on a server for re-downloading purposes...
and I really would like to know if it works the same way with the XBLIG titles!

I've copied across all the leftover Modbot codes for The Useful Dead, Bleed and about half of the Ladybird Galaxy codes.

I was still able to redeem a Light's End code just now (thanks, Ryan!) so not everything is delisted... yet.

The good news is that delisting still doesn't really seem to have happened yet, so everything should still work.

The bad news is that the ModBot giveaway posts in this thread don't always seem to be updating (especially those on page 1), so there appear to be more codes available than there actually are. If you submit a request to ModBot and don't get a reply within 2 minutes, that code was taken already; please try a different one.

MW_Jimmy, THANK YOU very much for your efforts in putting some more codes in the Google Sheet. I know how time-consuming it is...I did over 50 of them!

Philip Muwanga's Hexy Trench

Anyone else doing some past-closing-time buying? Is it just my cc / locked Microsoft account, or is this game spitting out a "Sorry" payment error message for others too? Just bought another game but retrying this one doesn't work.

GUN-NAC

Yep, all over or near enough. I think too much of my attention was spent on games that already had PC ports or on the most high profile ones.

There's no PC port of Hexy Trench, but it's funny that the dev included the demo of it in their Pool game (bar setting w/ arcade machines) I was able to get the always-available-till-last-night trial ver that way.

As Sartre noted in his contemplation on Hell in No Exit, the true horror is other members.
The transaction block that held me back over the weekend cleared out yesterday so I was glad I was able to pick up a few more titles. I tried to focus on stuff not on PC or Steam, but I also grabbed titles available elsewhere.

Like a bunch of lost 32 bit iOS games, there were just too many titles on the service (many admittedly of low quality and effort) for anyone to sift and cover them all, and so best-of lists were few and far between, and many were just regurgitations of the work others had done on their best of lists.

It was worth it to pick these up, even the ones rereleased on Steam. With them going at $1 each and them often selling for two to three times as much on Steam, it was like an indie fire sale on the titles that would go on to success.

I don't think I was the only one buying before the closing. Hopefully that last check will be a nice holiday bonus for some devs.

Yeah, I tried to buy something on my 360 directly earlier and got an error message. So yeah, it has started. Sigh.

Boo, same person took 2 of Pillar with only 4 available. :p

Edit* Well crap, hadn't had a chance to redeem all the keys I got. :*(

All these keys now appear to be a waste. Nothing redeems at all.

I missed the "7th" part of the thread.

It appears that the delisting is about done. I suppose that this thread no longer serves a useful purpose.

Once again, thanks to everyone who participated, whether it was by contributing codes, redeeming codes, or just showing your support. You've helped to preserve the legacy of XBLIG and for that, I thank you.

Mods, feel free to lock. See you next time =)

I also grabbed about 10 codes. Bought a few XBLIG over the years and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks too all the developers!
