Am I alone in thinking that there is a chance of Dead Rising 4 at the Xbox One conference?

Nope, it seemed to do well at launch, so I can see MS funding another one, especially as Capcom Vancouver have been quiet for ages. I'd be happy to see DR4, ideally as a return to a more DR1 style game, but I'll settle for seeing all the 360 DR games added to backwards compatibility.

At the same time, I struggle to see where they'd take DR from here, and it's possible Vancouver are working on a new IP or a continuation of an old Capcom IP. Plus MS has Undead Labs' new game scheduled for unveiling this year, do they want two "zombie" games (I know they're very unique, but the general public won't be able to distinguish)?

But yeah, bring DR4 right on, I'm ready.

Ticket for the train, please?

I forgot about Forza Horizon 3. So, Crackdown 3, Cuphead and Forza Horizon 3 are pretty much all I need to have. Surprise Xbox One announcement of PSO2 would be awesome too though.

I really hope Microsoft does something more than just show us the next Forza, GoW, Halo, and so on. I really want more than these games.

Dream Announcements:
Banjo
Conker
Chromehounds
Phantom Dust

So then, predictions for order of the conference and time allotted? I'm thinking it'll go something like:

Gears 4 (in-depth single-player, big 'hype/sad song MK II' trailer)
Phil 'half-buttoned blazer' Spencer speech MGS4-style: "Xbox has changed..."
Xbox-Windows 10 section & backwards compatibility expanded
ID@Xbox/Indie Showcase (Cuphead, Below & Inside [finally] get release dates)
Forza (car porn a plenty)
Fallout 4 mods/DLC chat (regardless of whether it's already been announced at Bethesda's conference)
Crackdown 3 (campaign, multiplayer, beta announced)
Re-Core (new trailer, tiny bit of gameplay)
Sea of Thieves (in-depth gameplay, beta announced)
Scalebound (trailer, no gameplay, no date aside from the ominous 2017 stapled on)
Xbox SlimOne unveiling...cryptic/ambiguous speech on codename Scorpio that could mean anything
Halo Wars 2 (gameplay, multiplayer sneak-peak, beta)
New/Revived IP (CGI trailer only)
Phil Spencer finally unbuttons his blazer; more ambiguous talk on the future of Xbox
-fin-

There's probably some AAA third party stuff in there somewhere that I'm forgetting.

Started to write my schedule expectations, but got halfway through before I realised they were almost 1:1 with yours.

Only changes I'd make:

Scalebound will have a short live demo, followed by a general trailer.
Gears will open, but with a 4-5 minute Campaign demo, then a 1-2 minute Horde reveal (similar to Halo's last year with Campaign->Warzone reveal).
Forza Horizon 3 (sizzle reel trailer, release date)
Somewhere in the first thirty minutes of the conference there will be a teaser for a new exclusive IP; probably just CGI - have a hunch it will be Sakaguchi's next game/Cry-on.
Crackdown 3 Beta live that day/end of month)
Recore - Big info blowout. Live demo, then general trailer. Probably delayed.
Big 10/15 minute chunk for Halo: Halo Wars 2 pre-recorded demo, CGI trailer, some words on that (crossplay, mouse&keyboard, beta, release date); H5:Guardians - Warzone Firefight trailer, Bonnie Ross will announce continued support, with 2-4 more updates to come.
Battletoads will be the revived IP (done internally by Rare)

Amazing.

C'mon guys, you know there will be more then just Forza, Halo and Gears.
Can you put me between Scorpio and Sam Lake pls?
I want to be sandwiched by those two.

Only got interest in Cuphead. Excited to see what Recore and Sea of Thieves look like. Hopefully they revive some dead original xbox IP's or introduce new ones (not CGI trailers).

It'll be there.

Idk why people thought otherwise.. it was it's only chance at being at E3 if it's Spring 2017. They wouldn't put out an AAA game (especially one that's going to have trouble selling as it is) without showing it at E3.

Anyways my predictions:

Scalebound
Recore
Sea of Thieves with a beta announcement
Halo Wars 2 with a beta announcement
Halo 5 will receive ongoing support with a look at what's to come in future
Forza Horizon 3
Crackdown multiplayer is out this summer as a full standalone game, maybe F2P, single player next year.
Dead Rising 4
Gears 4
Slim/Scorpio unveiling and announce plans for the future of Win10 and Xbox (aswell as future updates that year, family sharing is my guess)
Indie sizzle reel with a few big games getting longer trailers (Cuphead)
Ori and The Blind Forest 2 teaser trailer
2 new IP's in 2017 (one is a shared world shooter and the other is an action adventure game)
Titanfall 2 early DLC, uses Azure maybe exclusively on xbox.
Backwards compatibility announcements and multiple games available that day aswell as a teaser of what's to come in the coming months.
An Increase of xbox 360 games with gold to 3/month

Just like with Sony I want new IPs. With MS I want some software-side innovation as well cause they proved they can do it with BC.
If MS shows Scorpio this early they will need to make sure that first impression is great, so I'm excited for that.

Don't want to crash the party, but I don't think hype trains are allowed anymore and could lead to closure of this thread.

Good you're ready. :)

I fully expect Halo 5 to get at least an incoming DLC trailer because the weekend update said that Warzone Firefight update will be the largest drop for Halo 5.

Also, they gotta have space for dat Halo 5: ODST announcement

Also, I wouldn't count out some DLC for Quantum Break

I'm feeling it for MS. I have no clue what to expect from their conference in terms of new announcements. It is intriguing.
I agree but at the same time I feel like they have too much coming out this year/early next there might not be time to announce stuff for late 2017 onwards so a lot of what they show could be stuff we already know about. They need to have longer conferences imo

You've got Forza Horizon 3, Scalebound, Recore, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown, Halo Wars 2, Gears 4, that's a good 30 minutes gone already, add in Titanfall, Battlefield, Mass Effect, maybe Skyrim Remaster you've got another 30 minutes, then the last 30 minutes with hardware/software update announcements

Yesterday I was walking through the woods and thinking about how much I wanted a proper Fable game. Too bad that'll never happen now.

E3 hype!! Oh . . . wait a minute, E3 Downer thread instead?

Nah, all aboard! Next stop L.A, I'll have one window seat or anywhere you'll have me on the train please :)

One ticket for the train please!

My hopes for the show:
-Don't play it so safe. MS's E3 for 2014 and 2015 were very well done, but also felt very safe. While trying something new doesn't always work (EA), sometimes it can make a big impact like Bethesda's impressive debut E3 showing.
-We get a surprise megaton new game(s) announcement
-New IP. I think each year at E3 that I can remember, my favorite thing that I saw (at any conference) was something I wasn't expecting.
-Focus on 1st and 2nd party. I'd also like to see more AAA single player focused IP.
-Release dates for long announced games (including indies). As well as a shorter timetable between announce and release for future games.

What I hope they keep out of the E3 briefing:
-Hololens: A neat device, but I don't think it has very strong applications for gaming. I thought this was the low point of their show last year
-Minecraft: While a huge franchise, I don't think it brings the kind of excitement people are hoping for during an E3 briefing. Minecraft news seems to fit better as it's own announcements, especially since it's multiplatform
-A car: I think the Forza games are great, but I don't think showing a real car on stage builds any excitement. They've had an actual car on stage the past few years, it's usually very brief, and doesn't ever seem to generate any additional excitement. We want to see the game, not a big production reveal of a car appearing on stage.
-Games from 3rd party publishers. Last year they had a portion of the same Fallout 4 demo that was shown just 12 hours prior at the Bethesda briefing. This year Bethesda and EA both show before MS. If they have partnerships like this in place, hopefully it's either new material, or these announcements are kept brief (unless it's more ME:A footage...)

I see what you're saying. They did it last year when they put Scalebound, Quantum Break and Crackdown 3 at Gamescom instead. So, it might not mean MS has little new to offer. Just that they'll want to focus on what they already have announced more than anything else. I do wonder what their big fall 2017 title will be though. That is usually announced at E3.

2014 - Halo MCC
2015 - Halo 5
2016 - Gears 4
2017 - ???

Would love to see a new AAA IP for the fall next year from Microsoft. Another mediocre Halo game would be meh...
Sadly Fable is out of the window.. soo yeah.

And for that Crackdown 3 stuff to work around the world they have to get more servers. I mean there are no Azure Server Farms in germany for example. A 50ms+ delay for heavy cloud destruction wont end really well lol

Unless Microsoft has a big new mainstream IP coming next year, then they will probably launch Halo 6 then.

I hope they either commit to console exclusives or just say everything is coming to PC so I can sell my X1 and buy them all there.

The X1 is in a pretty crap place so either move would be fine with me. I just want them to outline a strategy.
