Terrible character designs aside, the game screamed Tales to me instead of Xenoblade.

But not as good as OG Chronicles. Yeah, I'm real skeptical on this. But they have only hit home runs 2 for 2, IMO with Chronicles and X.

The more I see of this game, the less interested I get.

Main character looks atrocious and hotpants sword-girl isn't much better. I get that half of America got irrationally excited over British voices in the first game but they were good despite any bias certain groups may have, while these aren't. Both characters look significantly younger than they sound and the acting isn't as good either.

Xeno games are typically really good so I still won't write this off, but I have a feeling I might end up playing it in spite of the characters and narrative rather than for it. Give me more Dunbans, Reyns, Melias and Elmas and less of whatever you've got going on here.

No, it really isn't.

I think you need to go back and play the Wii. That said, the game wasn't in production very long compared to most games these days. Xenoblade doesn't get a massive AAA budget.

No wonder this actually made it in 2017. Graphics and panoramas look EXACTLY like Xenoblade Chronicles X. It's like they literally copy pasted most of the code into this and just changed the name to Xenoblade 2. But I do hope the combat and story improves over XCX.

So Glad I get to play this year. I wonder what Bat Shit madness Monolith Soft have pulled out. As usual, the world looks incredible and the cutscene direction seems back up to the standards of the first game which is great. Character designs are Eh. But they'll probably grow on me as I journey to Elysium.
