Here's my favorite glitch of the night. Ended up in left field obviously. This was after Pujols let a slow grounder between his legs and Rasmus swung the bat through his own head three times during at bat warm-up.

So just how much of an upgrade from 09 is this? I got my PS3 midway through baseball season last year and even though the Show was the first game I got, I really didn't get to devote as much time to it as I should have.

So I just "played" two online games. I was the home team each time.

Connections were listed as great.

Both times it was my turn to bat in the bottom of the first, the game just freezes, the announcers keep talking, and then I lose connection to the opposition.

Is the online seriously that borked, or was it a coincidence and I played two people who decided to quit because they didn't score in the 1st inning?

Honestly I have had excellent experience online so far this year. Zep and I played a damn smooth game (check out the fantastic hightlight!) an hour ago

I just traded Orlando Hudson straight up for Zack Greinke in franchise on the first day of spring training. Dayton Moore trade AI is obviously in this game!

Just played a third game and same thing happened. This time it didn't even get to the bottom of the 1st, it happened in mid-pitch.

Internet: >15Mb download / >2.5Mb upload
Wireless: PS3 says 80-90% connection

I tried playing wirelessly at the beginning of last year and it was pretty much unplayable. I ran a wire and it was tons better. This year I am on shitty rural DSL and it's working great.

I don't know what else to say about it, connections seem to be absurdly fickle.

Ah...memories of last year. Just had a good game with rareside. Finally got the 100pts trophy.

Yeah man you were a great challenge. Seemed like you had the leadoff man reach 1st every damn inning! Can't expect to win when that happens!

Looking forward to more games with fellow GAF people. I don't mind playing randoms but can't stand when they quit... UGH.. Why play online if you gonna quit? Take a loss and learn from your beating!

The game ran very smooth though. Had maybe 1 or 2 jitters through the 15 innings. I forgot I was playing online after awhile.

The other guy had a few chances to score though, he tried to do a squeeze play twice. Both times putting down terrible bunts and getting the guy out at home or 3rd.

Online question: How do you guys feel bout using "guess pitch" in online play?

Offline, I never use it, as I feel it detracts from the sim experience. Online I use it only after I see the other person using it.

What's the general feeling on this, though? I probably played fewer than 20 online games in 09 thanks to lag, but could never tell if there was an accepted norm. This year I've played 2 so far and in both my visiting opponent used it from the very beginning, so I complied.

anyone have the PSP version? I have the PS3 version but i was curious if the PSP version was any good for just getting my baseball fix on the go.

I also see MLB2k10 is on the PSP for $10 less.....any comparisons yet or reviews??

I haven't played 10 but I used to play tons of 09 during my commute to work. It was very stripped down from the PS3 version, but still a fun time killer.

Seems like pushing my 2SFB up has done the trick. I'm starting to touch 94-95 on occasion. Excellent!

Quitters are really starting to piss me off in online. Can't wait to get a large enough buddy list so I can avoid randoms.

Tie game in the bottom of the ninth, I have runners on 1st and 2nd and hit a game winning double in the gap... right before my guy touches home to end the game my opponent pulls the plug...

I played that game for about 45minutes and he does that shit....why?

I still got the win, but can't save any replays or see any data from that game.

SCEA needs to fix some shit.

I saw that. I also saw that I wasn't going to achieve some of my goals in the current period...I was pretty tempted, but I refused on two principles: 1) I'm paying Sony for fucking nothing and 2) like you said, it's almost like roids.

I'm betting its the same game its been on PSP for 3 years now with new rosters. I think after 08 they stopped working on the PSP version.

Professional players play 6 hours a day for 20 years and can't reliably hit the ball. Christ Jason Kendal can't even accidently hit the ball. Adjust your expectations.

If you are a noob or just suck then use guess pitch. It helps you learn and identify the patterns and the types of pitches.

I have been playing the PSP version. Its very good, you won't be disappointed.

Don't be afraid to adjust the sliders to make hitting a little easier.

Gah, Yankees just two hit me. Hughes is sick and despite having only 3 pitches Sabathia is a beast. Kershaw is annoyingly wild.

Online record now a pitiful 2-7. Woe is me.

I haven't even played the Yankees yet...I think that is a world record for playing as the Sox and not seeing them in action yet.

Yeah after getting struck out 12 times by both Peavy and Oswalt, I threw it on practice mode last night. Just working on timing, since I was always swinging early. Started seeing improvement after around four go-throughs with Hill. :lol

I've actually played only one full baseball game so far. I've sunk the rest of my time into the RTTS. It's kind of frustrating to try and mix the two since there is a noticable difference in controls, especially for baserunning.

Yeah, I need to get into RttS. Normally I hate that mode and my single player adventures consist of trying to simulate a team to the World Series in franchise mode.

Any word on the pre-order classic stadiums download problem? I haven't been able to check today but on the 2nd I put my code in on and did confirm but nothing downloaded. The stadiums do show in my 'Services List', under Account Management, whatever that is.

They didn't work for me Tuesday but they did work for me yesterday. So I assume the problem has been solved. There is no download, the stadiums are simply unlocked in game and I think they only work as long as you're connected to PSN.
