I think so. Theres probably going to be a gaf server and linkshell once we know more about the official server names and everything. Just keep an eye on both threads.

We also have to keep in mind that there will be Companies. Maybe have a Gaf company with serveral Gaf linkshells attached to it. However, We wont know how Companies work until they release more info.

Here is a quicker link to use. It takes you right to it so you do not even have to select the ticket, you just click send and it says you have sent a gift. List is kind of large now so many not want to change the links but posting it just in case.

Those videos look really good to me. I wish I was able to do some of that in my short time with the beta. I hope I can get my own invite for phase 3 so Im not account sharing and wont be so limited. That looks like a lot of fun.

Was it just me or was there a severe lack of communication in the beta? No one speaks to eachother even when asked. The most I got from someone was a hand clap.

It doesn't show but the cap was rank 30 in Beta 3. I would guess around ranks 20-30 are the players. No one knows the rank of the mobs. If the mob is a certain color then you know it to be Impossible to Gauge or Easy Prey.

There was a lack of text comands that made chatting harder while using the keyboard.

Most people were using a controller for the game since the keyboard controls were a step back from Alpha. This could have deterrded people from wanting to talk to others.

Beta 3 will give us text commands.

Then there was a lack of Linkshells that also made the game feel less social.

Ah, was curious because if those were normal mobs close to the players level, that shit looks unfun as hell.

That was just a party not even alliance (parties are way too big now), Tank wasn't using his shield on the hard hitting mobs. So of course he died faster.

@meRaiki The reson we didn't use any battle regiments in this fight is because we had such a large gap in levels in this party. I was rank 15 in this fight and could hardly get enough tp to use 2 WS's the whole fight. Plus there's not much info built up on what combo's of skills will trigger certain effects. Plus the mages did a great job making the Mob pretty Soft.

Dude wasn't even rank 20 :lol No need to sweat guys it really was a noob party:lol

I wouldn't even approach the Nix unless I was rank 25+ and was in a party. Tank was hitting for 12 damange while the Nix was hitting for 200+.

Isnt the max party size about 13 or so people now? I think max size is only well served for bosses, unless people split into seperate attack groups and kill things spread across the land.

From what I noted, EXP is not really as important as your class skill. If anything, you'll probably gain physical exp at twice the speed of class exp when solo at least.

Exactly. Physical exp just controls stats and elemental affinity. Being really strong physically wont/shouldnt have an effect on how much class exp you get in a party either. Whats cool is that you'll be really strong by the time you decent to rank up other professions, so you'll be back in fighting shape with multiple skills in no time.

yeah so almost a whole other week!

it came for a good time for me. I wasnt really playing a whole lot there at the end of phase 2. I would have liked to get in a big party like in those vids and go fight some big mobs but GAF players suck for that kind of stuff for the most part. No offense guys! :lol

looking forward to phase 3 though and if anyone creates a linkshell Ill want a pearl.

I just hope people stop completely ignoring others. I got in a few parties during phase 2, but for the most part, some people wouldnt answer a say or shout message...and its not hard to reply to those at all.

EDIT: Needs more NDA lifting.

Well there were already chatmodes in the game (/p put you into permanent party chat mode). Not sure what else could be added aside from making tells a little more obvious, adding backgrounds to chat windows, and adding /em commands.

With more soling in the game, I would expect more people to do their own thing with their time. Especially if it turns out that you get the same xp/skills/whatever by soloing as you do in parties.

Well yeah, but this is about people not even answering simple questions from others standing right next to them, or speaking to them directly.

Then again, it might be a case of not being able to type while in a menu/not seeing the text due the chat log being transparent.

They are one and the same thing now, from what I gather there are no alliances, the party size is a maximum of 15 people though.

Maybe for the first 15 levels its ok, but after that it just becomes boring.

Solo is great, but the problem with FF14 is that the party mechanics are so bad at the moment that nobody wants to bother, grinding mobs on your own can get excruciatingly boring.

There will be both Linkshells and Companies. Linkshells will be joined to one Company.

In FFXI there where linkshells that had other linkshells they did HNMS, Dynamis, and whatever else with. So I guess they want to join those linkshells officially in 14.

I need to find the article so I can show you what they said about Companies.
