Pretty happy with my book progress so far. I finished those 4 books in the first half of the month but I've been bogged down in a long piece of non-fiction since then. It feels a bit more like work to read non-fiction so I'm less inclined to spend time chipping away at it. Hoping to finish that book early February so I can get back to reading more fiction.

Movies have definitely been helped by Oscar season. I may try to see Fences and Hidden Figures since they're the only two I've missed from the Best Picture nominees.

Now I'm reading Swan Song by Robert McCammon, another massive book, and then I'll be speeding through stuff. I'm feeling confident still!

Comments:
- Happy to date with my progress - I made a commitment to get back into reading prior to XMAS last year and decided to leverage the 50/50 challenge as a way to cement that more formally
- Used the time I had off at the start of the year to accelerate my reading, but now that I am back in the swing of work, life and other priorities I see that my pace is slowing down - need to make sure that I read at least something everyday!
- Started experimenting with audiobooks but only have found it an enjoyable experience when I am travelling long distance on the road. Can't listen when I am doing everyday chores as I find it difficult to maintain attention
- Films won't be hard to do as I don't watch much TV and reduced my video game time. Although there is excellent TV being produced I prefer the finiteness of film.

Finally, for those that have heard of Elena Ferrante's Neapolitan Novels series but haven't tested the waters - they are excellent. Most enjoyable book reading experience I have had in some time.

Last year I was disappointed by myself, because I read next to nothing even though I enjoy reading. I stumbled upon this thread every once in a while, thinking I might join sometime. And now things will be different, already looking good as I'm currently reading The Alchemist (third book this year).

I'll update my list with authors and maybe english titles later. Not aiming for the 50 books, that's simply unrealistic, maybe 25? I'll read as much as I can :)

On the other side I'm watching a shit load of movies all year around, so that won't be a problem at all. Thus far I'm only counting movies seen at the cinema, which is what I want to do more often.

I could have killed the book part if I read, uh books, instead of novel length Pride and Prejudice fanfiction sequels. Kinda tempted to buy the ones that were published and count them towards my goal.
