Kinda funny how some people claim all PC players do is port beg. Meanwhile there's always a "(blank) would be perfect on the Switch!" thread being made.

I always wondered it port begging (for any system) ever matters.

Surely the people in charge don't read niche fansite comments, they have actual marketing data. They already know if a port is an economically good idea or not.

I'm not so sure that Dark Souls and Valkyria Chronicles would have happened without their respective pushes. By and large, though, I do think fan campaigns are considered white noise. Nintendo dished out a cold dose of reality a few years ago, which ruffled the feathers of fans who had long assumed that Operation Moonfall and Operation Rainfall were actually successful.

finished my playthrough of oxenfree

what a nice and refreshing game, it's got a tone to it that really aligns with the things i like and the story and characters and all the presentation stuff are all top notch. it can be a bit clunky to control and i think there's some pacing issues but nothing that detracts too much from that great story

not sure what to play next, hopefully there'll be something decent in this humble monthly, or else i might actually play that dks3 playthrough i've been meaning to do

also for people saying i don't like anything, my list isn't that bad

My dog was murdered by a 3.5mm audio port and I will not rest until the standard is dead
I think Oxenfree was the last PC game I completed since Zelda and Persona 5 came out. I enjoyed it a bunch, too. It was a relaxing play through but still engaging enough. I'd like a horror game like it.

It was unusable on my GPD Win, though. Surprisingly. I thought it would have been perfect for a portable play through but it was taxing and I had to keep it on my desktop.

i also liked it a lot more on a controller than on a mouse

the default windows cursor was too distracting to me for some reason

They never said never. They said not planned as of now.

You mean they said this:

We currently do not have any plans to release Nioh for PC.

May as well say maybe we think about it. Kind of like that white lie you tell youngins, maybe if yea good we will go to McDonalds =p

If it does it won't be til after all the DLC is out too. Thats going to be awhile with how its coming along now.

Exactly what I was talking about. Thanks for some proof on the matter.

Bought Deadly Premonition. Crashes after the first cutscene even with DP fix and other things I tried to fix it. Refund.

That makes me sad. Mine crashed frequently as well - it's a horrible port that rivals Saints Row 2 - but I stuck with it and it was glad I did. Still, if you can't get past the first cutscene I can't say I blame you. Maybe you can watch a let's play of it or something.

Its the worst port I've ever encountered in all my time PC gaming. If memory serves It may be the only game I've never been able to get working in some playable state despite hours of trying(aside from some old win95 stuff). Even when it wasn't crashing all the time I couldn't get the framerate to stay above a headache inducing level for more then 5 minutes at a time and I'm usually fine with low framerate.

No plans doesn't mean won't ever come to PC.

I'll gladly double dip when it happens, such an amazing game deserves a 4k treatment.

But it already had 4k treatment on Pro, albeit some dips on resolution and 30fps.
I agree though, amazing game.

So I just discovered the existence of the Fast Sync option in NVidia control panel options (had no idea this was a thing).

Currently, if possible, I usually disable vsync or force it off via driver and then play in borderless windowed fullscreen with fps capped at 59.7 in nvidia profiler (to avoid fps jumps, input lag and screen tearing). Would this new Fast Sync option be a better choice now? I have GTX 980, which seems to support it as far as I can tell.

FastSync is for situations where your framerate is at least twice your refresh rate, otherwise you get very inconsistent framepacing, which manifests as stuttering.

This game is good.

In its core it's a Limbo clone, but due to the production value and better presentation, better than both, Limbo and Inside imho, people who've played them know what to expect tho

It's got some really nice ideas and a very creepy atmosphere. I very much recommend this game.

It's also only 2.5 hours long, so it never overstays its welcome

Also:

No spiders
No gore
No jumpscares

For people contemplating a purchase that are bothered by these elements

Just finished Murdered: Soul Suspect, which I have been meaning to play for ages (it's been sitting in my library for over a year now, lol)

Legit great story and atmosphere coupled with 'gameplay' ranging between serviceable and annoying, but overall not too bad and definitely worth it for the story.
The demon 'stealth-fights' were getting annoying towards the end, but thankfully they really don't happen that often. And you can posess cats for some basic platforming/ventilation shaft traversal, which is always a plus.
Perfect length as well, took me 8 hours with getting most of the collectibles and sidequests.

If you've gotten that game in one of the Square Enix bundles (like myself), be sure to give it a chance.

Like I said, don't look into much into maybe-s or perhaps or if-s.

Just wait the months/years and see if it comes. Probably will after all the DLC.

First one is soon (and with another free update).

I've been playing it, it is alright to be honest. Plays like ninja gaiden meets diablo 3. Though I need to buy my own PS4 at some point.

I rather have BB come to PC lol

I don't understand how some people bothers with playing through Nier Automata 5 times to get all the endings. I mean, it was a good game, not a masterpiece, but a good enjoyable game. Ive played through the 2nd playthrough until
the resistance camp
, but I have little to no interest in playing through some of the samne missions over and over agin in every playthrough. Might pick the game up and continue in the future.

Its not 5 times the same one.
Route B is (mostly) the same till 3/4th. The route after that is the continuation of the story.

In chapters its:

Route A=Chapter 1
Route B=Chapter 2
Route C-D=Chapter 3
Route E=Chapter 4

A bit off-topic, but since I'm running out of space on my SSD (9gb left), is there a piece of free software out there, that can tell me what and how much space stuff takes up on it?

Also the second time you play the game, you can proceed very fast, just skip all enemies to go toward the next boss fight, RT all the way, that's what I'm doing.
Maybe now I'll do some optional sides, but I find most of them boring and placed in the game just to artificially increase its lenght.

Some of the sidequests give a bit more information about the story, though its true.

The best ones are the Emil related ones.

One doesn't exclude the other. PC users are port beggers and so are Switch early adopters. Afterall, some Switch early adopters are PC users!

Mostly everyone on GAF are port beggers. When Danganronpa was announced on PC, people wanted a PS4 version (that they got later).

When some visual novel is announced, some people want a Vita version.

When a PS4/Vita game is announced, people want a PC version.

See? Xbox One users don't beg, that's why they don't have games :V

The lucky buggers have that BC library though.
Anyday now Fiddy Cent: Breath of the Wild will be confirmed for BC and it'll already be the best gaming system of the gen.
I am deathly serious
