See, now looking through this thread makes me wonder...... removing the fact that there's no blurbs on the backs of these games, why is it that these box arts look SO much better than what we get at retail?
Let's take the Skies of Arcadia box art I saw on the previous page as an example... the console branding is still there, but isn't an ugly fucking banner cutting into the artwork, and the logo for the game is placed so that it's still fully legible without being obnoxiously large for no reason. Not to mention that the choice of artwork is 100x better than the marketing clowns at Sega used (although the GCN artwork was also much better than the Dreamcast artwork... blargh)
Seriously... why are people being PAID to do such a subpar job on something that some of us can whip up in a day or two (with official art assets, no less!) and STILL do a better job?
Hey publishers, wanna know where your money sinkhole is? It's your marketing teams. Kill some of those jobs before you axe a development team to cut costs.
