I don't know why it's written correctly in Spanish if the translation is based on the English one (evidenced by fiesta=party and other embarrasing things...)

dat glorious translation, "Allé Voy"!

Yep, thanks to the translation I had doubts about Yuffie's gender (it tried to confuse me even with Tifa and Aeris, but it couldn't!)

One update left?

You may be underestimating the length of the final area(s).

Anyway, Chocobo Racing: Postgame

First things first, you get a score for finishing story mode. I'm a bit rusty.
pic_0567.png

This isn't just for bragging rights: you get that many points for creating a racer.
pic_0570.png
pic_0575.png
pic_0576.png

Even at this average-ish score, this allows the creation of racers well beyond the nine currently unlocked (Beating story mode once unlocks Bahamut in all other modes. This means you may have to deal with Megaflare in GP. Have fun!)
pic_0591.png
pic_0619.png

What to do after this? Beat the story again, of course. After the first time, you can skip the story scenes.
pic_0623.png
pic_0625.png
pic_0636.png

New victory means new racer. The second one is much more important, for reasons that will soon become clear.
pic_0650.png
pic_0653.png
pic_0656.png

What's this? (Also, Megaflare is much more fun in your hands.)
pic_0660.png
pic_0661.png
pic_0662.png

You immediately are placed in a race on a brand-new (very difficult) track. Opponent: Squall. He's not actually that good, I still beat this one my first try even when I was younger.
pic_0663.png
pic_0674.png
pic_0675.png

Beating this race unlocks Squall and the FF VIII Circuit. Squall's ability is Gunblade, which takes a very, very long time to charge, but is without exception the game's best "catch up" ability. It provides a speed boost until you're in first place, and also causes anyone you pass to crash.
pic_0679.png

That's all of the tracks and all of the standard racers. There are a few secret racers (you get a new one every time you beat the story mode) but I think I'm stopping here.
The secret racers are
Cid's Tank, Cloud, a Moomba, a Cactuar, Aya Brea (from Parasite Eve, in a police car), Jack (from 3D World Runner), the SS Invincible (from FF3), and a Chocobo (8-bit).
Yes, I had to look those up, I only remembered half.

Let's go find Terra! She seemed to have landed in Zozo. We pick up a friend along the way!

FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_01_18_22_57_485.png

Once in Zozo we find a new Tool for Edgar, which will be awesome for most of the rest of the game! Eventually we make it to Dadaluma, a jackass guarding Terra. He's susceptible to Imp, so the fight is really easy.

We find Terra, and some old Esper (Ramuh) decides to let us in on what exactly the fuck is going on.

FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_01_19_02_42_901.png

So Celes is going to impersonate an opera singer so a horny gambler can kidnap her and we can follow. Seems logical. Of course, someone is always going to screw with us...

I went ahead and named Tifa after myself, since I couldn't think of anything else for her. Works for me, she's cool.

Continuing on...we finally get back to Terra, who fills us in on her story. Apparently an Esper and a Human made whoopie and she was the result.

FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_02_19_19_13_714.png

Ultimately the Empire invades the Esper World and Gestahl steal Terra, but not after killing her mother. Seriously? We can have soldiers beating up fairies and killing women, but punching Celes warrants censorship? *grumble*

Whatever. Anyway, time to head to the Sealed Cave...but not until we go get Mog! Kupo!

FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_02_19_42_49_762.png

Anyway, on to the Sealed Cave. My least favorite dungeon in this game...although the Floating Continent is a close second. After making my way though it, I picked up the Ultima Weapon and got to the Sealed Gate. Of course, I was followed...

After leaving, the Esper go apeshit and attack my airship, causing it to crash near Maranda. My burning desire to confront the emperor takes me back to Vector.

Mini-game time! It's really surprising how much I remember from the first time I played this. Talking to everyone and getting the questions during dinner right can yield some pretty good rewards.

FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_13_31_49_483.png

So we accept the offer from the Emperor to go root out the Espers on Crescent Island. Terra and Locke head to Albrook, where Celes and Shadow are waiting. Oh, and the awesome General Leo too.

Shadow's Daughter
Relm.

I decided to give XIII another shot while I'm off for Easter. I finally pushed through the start (read:bad part) of the game and now everything has opened up. I've fallen in love with it in the same way I well in love with IV when I played that over the summer. Granted IV is much better but the bad start to XIII has been pretty much eradicated because of how awesome it has become. I also bought the Collectors Edition of XIII-2 off eBay since it's out of stock everywhere now and I wanted the soundtrack. It's sitting here pretty waiting for me to platinum (hopefully) XIII.

I also have VII and IX on my PS3 just asking for my Vita to be able to play them. Assuming the Vita gets the support before the summer I may play one of them then.

All right, last update for today, I promise. I just had a lot of pics!
We stay the night, but Relm somehow gets caught in a house full of Flame Rods (who the fuck is stockpiling them?) so we have to go get her. Buying an Ice Rod when you first get to town is a good idea, BTW. Shadow saves us at the last minute!
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_14_10_29_479.png
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_14_24_44_183.png
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_14_26_02_995.png

We finally learn the secret of this town, then head to Crescent Mountain to find the Espers....where we meet an old "friend."
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_14_26_40_132.png
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_14_46_37_595.png

FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_14_52_29_714.png

We eventually find the Espers hiding out. They agree to calm the fuck down and meet with the Empire.
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_15_16_50_155.png
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_15_18_10_769.png

But of course Kefka's gotta go and be a dick about it. General Leo, who has some awesome skills, can't stand up to Kefka, and ultimately dies at his hand. :'(

FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_15_23_41_866.png

Now the Espers are pissed, and Kefka proceeds to collect Magicite from each and every one of them, before finally heading to the Sealed Gate to find the Warring Triad - the statues that keep all magic in balance. They create the Floating Continent where they stand with the Warring Triad.

FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_15_33_29_920.png

Couple of things left to do before we head to the Floating Continent! Get all (but one) of Mog's Dances, get 2 Magicite from the Jidoor auction house, and...eh, I'll get Strago's Lore and Gau's Rages later.
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_15_48_27_100.png

FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_16_12_05_183.png

Off to the Floating Continent, where we are greeted by the Empire's Air Force and...an old friend...and his friend!
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_16_35_57_481.png
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_16_38_17_588.png

Thank god that boss battle is ov...oh what? Another one? At least I can steal a Debilitator from him, which makes Ultima Weapon later much easier.
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_16_38_37_007.png
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_16_43_40_710.png

After arriving on the Floating Continent, we find Shadow, and proceed towards Gestahl and Kefka. We fight Ultima Weapon along the way...having Reflect Rings is freaking awesome against him.

FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_17_09_33_612.png
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_17_12_29_521.png

I thought about stealing Genji Gloves from Dragons, but after only getting Hi-Potions for awhile, I grew impatient and moved along. We finally see Kefka and Gestahl at the Warring Triad. Kefka eventually goes even more mad, killing Gestahl and moving the Warring Triad out of balance - changing the world.

We narrowly escape the continent, and end up waiting for Shadow at the edge, before jumping to the airship.

This is definitely my favorite Final Fantasy.

You may be underestimating the length of the final area(s).

Jup!

Part IX: Actually not the last part

So it turns out this Eureka land is pretty big, so, yeah!

cDaQC.jpg
YjbHN.jpg

Aah!

Anyway, this place is filled with items like this: powerful weapons being guarded by a boss. Yeah, it's definitely a Final Fantasy game.

UeXEW.jpg

This guy still changes his weak point, but I just hit him with regular attacks and he goes down without much of a hassle. He gives me the 'FullMoon.'

NZQr7.jpg
caYGv.jpg

This boss is a bit tougher, but only because she paralyses almost my entire team.

TlLia.jpg

I take the 'Masamune' from her corpse.

K0Hb8.jpg
wKBHp.jpg

Not much to say about this boss. Afterwards, the 'Excalibur' is mine.

The enemies in this place aren't that tough, besides Ninjas, who are just annoying and have a ton of health.

ftbBB.jpg

The Sword is 'Ragnarok.' I win, but barely.

oFzMu.jpg
U2s8E.jpg

By this time, my Knight is a real beast.

UEke3.jpg

The staff is Scylla. She offers me the most powerful Jobs in the game, so I'm expecting a tough fight.

VZfpX.jpg
RDVyF.jpg

But she's not so bad. I obtain the 'Eldest' aaaaaaaand...

HKFPV.jpg

Ninja's and (not pictured) sages! I decide to make two of my guys Ninja's, since I don't want to lose my Knight's ability to protect weak party members. Plus Knights look cooler.

PZyPG.jpg

Oh thank god.

h1fqP.jpg

These guys are not actually bosses, but they sell powerful magic like Life2, Holy, Flare, etc. The one on the right sells summons, but not right now, since I forgot to tackle Bahamut. Well, shit. A third hidden guy sells shurikens, and I hear they work just swell on final bosses.

Before moving on to the final area I decide I need another sage with curative magic, since potions don't really do the trick anymore. I hike all the way back through Eureka and the Labyrinth, swap my Invincible for my Nautilus again to fly to Dorga's place for Haste and Cure3 magic, get my Invincible back, fly to the floating continent and take on Bahamut again. The last time he one shotted me, so...

BGGx3.jpg

Oh. Great!

Then, I head back through the Labyrinth, into Eureka, all the way to the last floor to buy a second dose of Bahamut and Odin and Life2. So yeah, a lot of running around. It's not so bad since the music in Eureka is fantastic and the enemies give nice exp and gil. I think I'm not strong enough for the final boss, so a few levels extra are nice. I think I take my team as it is now into the Crystal Tower and switch my ninja to a sage when I really need to heal (like in boss fights).

Whew. I wonder if it's enough? Zande, here I come!

1S7BS.png

Took Cid back home

ptqyt.png

Healed his wife and collected my reward.

ouHtJ.png

Went to the mountains and found out that I had to grind a bit just to survive the place.

Wound up in the dragon's nest and it sounds like Bahamut stole some chocobo eggs. Also met a guy hiding in there.

Then comes Bahamut. I was immediately scared since from other games he's no pushover in battle.

IwThE.png

Come to find out none of my attacks work against him and he's only dealing 1 damage to me. WTF is going on? This battle has been going on forever.

I couldn't believe the last part of FF3. Seriously, four full dungeons (all with escape disabled), at least three absurdly difficult mini bosses AND the final boss all past the final save spot? Jeez.

All right, the penultimate FFVI CES run update!

When we last left our heroes, Kefka just blew up the world. Damn. Celes finds herself stuck on Solitary Island with her "grandad" Cid. Unfortunately, the powers that be are impatient and let Cid die. Pity. Celes just can't deal with the pain. Luckily, Cid has left her a means of escape!

Celes eventually arrives in Nikeah, totally bypassing Tzen (since then I'd have to recruit Sabin), and meets a familiar face. Maybe. She follows "Gerad," ultimately learning that Edgar was disguising himself as the leader of a gang so that he could gain access to Figaro Castle.

Yay! We have an airship! And all 3 characters! First thing's first - let's make a quick stop at Kefka's Tower to pick up a freaking awesome weapon for Setzer: Fixed Dice.
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_03_21_44_29_861.png

Couple of things first: I need to get some Ice/Flame Shields so I can absorb/nullify a bunch of damage. That means getting some Falchions from Maranda and wagering them at the coliseum. Unfortunately, the guy you fight does a lot of instant death crap, so a quick trip up the Fanatic's Tower to get the Safety Bit is in order.

And, FFVI down!

After farming Cactuars to get all the magic I had learned, I decided to move on to Kefka's Tower. I levelled up a bit more than I'd have liked, but that's ok.
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_05_20_52_24_362.png

Couple of bosses to get out of the way first. Nothing too bad. The pattern for the rest of the battles are:
Setzer = Quick + Fixed Dice x8 (due to the Master's Scroll relic)
Celes = Meteor/Flare + Quick + Meteor/Flare x3 + Osmose (due to the Soul of Thamasa Relic)
Edgar = Quick + Meteor/Flare x2
There are some changes here and there, but that's the basic setup.

Oh yeah, and the final two dragons are in Kefka's Tower, earning me the Crusader Magicite...which I won't use. Technically, learning Meltdown is an easy way to abuse Flame Shields later on for damage + healing at the same time, but where's the fun in that?

Finally, the Warring Triad.
Goddess was ridiculously easy when you give Setzer a Ribbon. If she attacks you with Quasar you can get screwed really quickly, but I dispatched her quickly enough that she never got around to it.

Demon was simple as well. Same strategy as before with Celes, and he goes down. Aegis Shield pretty much blocks everything he throws at you.

Fiend was another story. Edgar turned into a jumping machine with Dragoon Boots + Dragon Horn, with an Ice Shield on just in case he got hit with Fiend's ice attacks while on the ground. I got a little lucky, since I forgot to equip Edgar with the Holy Lance (which has a chance to cast Holy after attacking), and instead equipped the Radiant Spear. More physical damage, but no Holy attack. In the end it worked out, but just barely.

Aaaaaand...here we go.

First Tier!
Long Arm (the bottom left of the screen) is susceptible to Break, and the rest goes down quickly with my original attack pattern (with some Hastega thrown in for good measure).
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_06_14_24_17_470.png

Second Tier!
Magic (the guy in the back) is susceptible to Silence (thank god!), and Machine (the...um...machine in the middle) can be kinda-sorta-one-shotted with Edgar's Air Anchor. After taking those two out, same old strategy, though Setzer got a little bum rushed at the end when Power went down (his final attack is a 10-hit combo at about 300-400 an attack). Luckily, he wasn't the last one to die, so Setzer got to stick around.
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_06_14_26_28_535.png

Third Tier!
Um, for some reason I forgot to take a screenshot here. Oops. Here's a placeholder.

Anyway, I STUPIDLY forgot to equip Fenrir before coming into the fight, so I had to do this fight the long way. For those of you that don't know, if you kill Rest (the dude), he then auto-kills one (sometimes two) of your characters. If you kill him after Lady (the...lady), and then move on to Kefka, you are then left with two less people. In a normal game this is sorta all right, since the next two party members jump in, but not here. Fenrir gives everyone Blink status, which averts this attack.

SO. Instead, I had to Rasp Lady down to 0 MP (didn't take too long, she's got something like 10K), and then kill Rest without killing Lady. All Lady can do is attempt to revive Rest, but with no MP, I'm free to get my party back in order before finally taking her down.
Kefka_Third_Tier.png

And finally, Kefka himself.
I had a couple of holy shit moments during the fight, with Celes and Setzer getting whacked with Havoc Edge and HyperDrive. Luckily I got them back up, and from then on out it was relatively easy. Yay!

FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_06_14_57_20_652.png

For those that don't know, if you don't recruit someone, all that is displayed in the ending is their headshot plus a flyover of where they are from. That's it. Except for Terra, who is shown walking the party out, and Sabin and Locke, who share an ending cutscene with Edgar and Celes, respectively.

Terra's shows her hearing her father, and discovering she may be able to stay despite magic leaving the world.
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_06_15_07_13_561.png

So what are the differences in the endings?
In Edgar's, Sabin helps move the giant pipe that falls in the party's path, but since he's not there, the party works together.
FinalFantasyVIAdvanceRestored_2012_04_06_15_01_13_301.png

In Celes's, Locke grabs her right before she falls, but if he's not there, Setzer will do it instead.

Whew. 5 Final Fantasies down. I'll probably take a small break, then go back and finish my playthrough of FFIX I started in December.

Part X: In which soup ingredients save the day, or how I learned to stop caring and use ninja's

Right. I don't have a lot of screens from the Tower itself because I wasn't actually planning on beating it my first time through. Which will come back to bite me in the ass later this update. The tower itself wasn't very hard at all.

My team gets trapped, but Dorga summons all their friends to save them.

Now I can advance towards Zande. I was under the impression that this would be the final boss(es).

This guy goes down without trouble. Whew, I thought, I can do this. I'm not underlevelled at all! But then this guy happened:

dkb7S.jpg

This was without a doubt the hardest fight in the game for me. It took me, what felt like, a hundred tries before I finally BARELY beat him. I hated the game for this battle with a burning passion.

Next up:

But compared to Echina, he was pretty tame.

And this one was just annoying and took a long time, but I did it on my first try.

zmzNF.jpg

Okay, this is it! FOR REAL.

xQWaA.jpg

I seriously considered quitting the game at this point. She just killed me too fast, I only had 5 shurikens left, and I was basically stuck in the dark world. No way that I would reload another save to go back and get more shurikens, just to go through ALL those bosses again. I was level 50 at this point. I decided to just grind a few levels until I would run out of elixers and then try again. I also changed jobs so byebye Knight ): I tried again at around level 53.

Wait, what?

What what what?

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

I sure am!

And the crystal silently sheds its light...

My final party:

yaeeP.jpg
bG8Kr.jpg
z1WAJ.jpg

7CjeZ.jpg

I actually did it! There were definitely some things I did not like about this game at all. I hated how running away was never an option, how ambushes and back attacks appear so often and how deadly they are, how the final battle was probably impossible without ninjas and sages, how some gimmick dungeons were just dreadful (mini dungeons, cave of darkness), how the inventory limit would always get in the way when having to change jobs for said dungeons, the list goes on and on...

But the game had heart, dammit. I also loved the soundtrack, the variety in enemy and dungeon design and the job system of course. And I just enjoyed playing a traditional jRPG again, it has been a while.

Now the only FF left is FFII but I'm not looking forward to that broken game at all. Which version of that is considered the least terrible?

I had a lot of fun with the PSP version of FFII

The only thing I thought was out of place

Minor Spoiler---- The airship doesnt come into play until way late in the game.

Ive never played and beat FFII on any system. I played a little bit of the GBA Dawn of souls but only the first hour or so.
From what ive read, past versions of the game, you can lose stats while gaining others. Like if you use nothing but attack, your INT would decrease.
This does NOT happen in the psp version.

Plus the sprites are all redrawn, and look amazing. The battle are fast-paced.
Im playing FFIII-DS and its sooooo slow compared to II-PSP.

TL;DR - Go with the PSP version of FFII.

Minor Spoiler---- The airship doesnt come into play until way late in the game.

But I suppose this is story related and the same in every version of the game?

Okay, that sounds like a pretty big advantage!

Haha, great! Congratulations! How many HP did you have left?

I'm not sure of the exact number, probably around 200 maybe? I actually thought that would be the end of it, but I got lucky when my ninja attacked BEFORE she could use another flarewave (another thing I hate is how random the turn order is). My ninja did only about 1500 damage, too, but it was enough.

I'm having trouble beating this and the boss in the ocean too. This rat seems harder than it.

You can't beat the boss in the ocean. You have to beat the rat.

You can find Fire2/Ice2/Thunder2 in the Viking base. Give one each to three party members, turn everyone into Black Mages (and a white Mage do you can use Aero and Cure), and put them all in the back row. You should be fine then.

The toughest part is really running/beating enemies on the way in and out of Nepto's Shrine.

Eh, I've never been that much of a fan of red mages (personal preference). Black/white mages tend to be better at their respective spells while red is somewhere in the middle. Still viable though.

For that boss you don't need to physically attack, so I'd go with whatever class gives you the most magic power.

EDIT: Oh right. One of the main reasons I'm not big on Red Mages is their lack of MP. They fall behind Black/White Mages really, really quickly.

Yeah, I'm a little burnt out myself, but I'll hop back in in a week or so. Just need to play something else before coming back.

And FF3's end isn't too bad. By the time you make it to the final boss you should have more than enough Elixirs, Shurikens, etc. to take her out. It's really only daunting because it just takes so goddamn long to complete. :p

It's not that the end of FF3 is super difficult, especially with the safety net of save states. There's a replenishment pool at the bottom of Eureka and I think I had 20+ elixirs by the time I reached the Dark World. It's just annoying that you can't save your progress in the last four dungeons without taking a half hour run outside and back.

Throwing in a save point at the top of Sylx wouldn't have broken the game.

Yeah, the final boss in the original FF3 isn't really that hard, since it just spams Flare Wave. The hard part is actually surviving everything to that point. With 2 Ninjas/Sages, you're basically having to Cure 4 and throw Shurikens every chance you get. Then again, being leveled up helps, since Flare Wave does ridiculous damage. (It's why I don't take the boss until around 60.) It does get hard however if you decide to take on the Final Boss without taking out the Crystal guardian bosses, since it'll be rocking a LOT more HP. (I think in the DS version, you have to beat the other bosses or it makes the Final Boss unbeatable.)

Speaking of, I just read a Let's Play not that long ago where this guy actually solo'd the game. Turns out Shields actually do serve a purpose and Summoners are broke as hell. Beat the last boss with a Sage with Bahamut/Cure 4.

Though I'd admit that a Save Point before the Dark World would help a bit. A major pain in the ass to trek back up the tower if you lose during any of that mess.

What was the first JRPG to use save points? There must have been a game earlier than FF4.

Hmm...good question. I know Chronicles of the Radia War had save points in the form of Beds that healed you to full HP and you could save in them no matter where they were (in Towns, Dungeons, or wherever).

No idea what the first JRPG to use it would've been though.

Actually, I can imagine that soloing Cloud of Darkness with a Sage is really easy, it probably just takes awhile. Supposing you can survive 2 Flare Waves, the pattern would be: Bahamut->Cure4->repeat, use Elixir when low on MP.

EDIT: I started up my FF9 playthrough (which I began back in December) the other day. I'll post some screenshots on Sunday/Monday. I started out from the Treno Card Tournament, and now I'm running around trying to learn all of the Blue Magic I missed as well as Chocograph hunting. What team should I go with? I usually rock Zidane/Dagger/Steiner/Vivi, but I'd like to change it up. So out of Quina/Freya/Eiko/Amarant, who should my final 3 be?

It might actually be the first one with a top-down perspective to have symbols in dungeons.

I think the patch of grass in between the outer walls and the crystal tower in FF3 qualifies as a proto-save point of sorts.

I did end up restarting FF11 with a friend who's never played, and it's honestly going too fast to screenshot/solo and duo exp is so much better than full party at low levels now.

... But.

BUT.

We ran into a guy in Valkurm who randomly invited us, and proceeded to wipe the party thrice by randomly attacking a goblin and two AoEs in a crowd of otherwise passive mobs. I was laughing my ass off that even in 2012, you can have a terrible Valkurm party with a noob blm.

Cloud, Barret and Tifa manage to escape while the sector inhabitants die. Everyone, everyone's dead, deaaaaaad! *slap*

The party goes to visit Marlene at Aeris' home. They discover that she is adopted and an ancient.

If they want to rescue Aeris, they have to climb the Shiny Golden Wire of Hope!

CuKF9.png

There's a stupid microgame of jumping to a thing in the middle, but they survive.

Stealth? What's stealth? The other route has a few funny lines, but that doesn't make up for the lack of blood!

The party takes advantage of the incompetence of the guards.

Another stupid minigame! Luckily, I didn't fail.

And they keep going up, deceiving people and getting cards.

The city mayor gives them another card and a materia that adds elemental properties to a weapon/armlet for saying an evident word.

The next floor has an optional thing about opening doors. If you do it well, you can get an armor with 4 slots, the All materia and the Star Armlet.

What's doing a megaphone here? The 65th floor has a thing about completing a scale replica of Midgar, but the images are bugged...

At last, the party discovers some info. They see Hojo for the first time and learn what he's trying to do with Aeris.

Thanks to following Hojo, they can see some disturbing things. Who could think this thing is an Ancient?

Barret can see how stupid is the situation. The game apologizes giving the Poison materia.

The next floor has Hojo and his specimens. After some bullets to the container, the Lion/Wolf escapes and bites that scientific.

It can talk and is a new character! It would be cruel to call him Red XIII after knowing his real name, so I'll make an exception and name him Nanaki. That'll make some lines lose the meaning, but who cares? Soon after that there's the first boss battle in this building.

Barret decides that less is more and convinces the group to split. After that, they get the Enemy Skill (BLUE MAGIC!!!) materia, useless for now. Some enemies have Carbon armlets to be stolen.

Barret learns Mindblow (Cloud already has Cross Slash) and Tifa steals a powerful sword for Cloud.

And in the same battle Tifa learns Sommersault.

Things were being too nice to be true and the group gets captured.

But that lasts little and they get out of their cells.

Oh, oh, the president has been killed by Sephiroth and his son appears. It's time to erase his smile and Cloud tells the party to escape while he battles that redhead (well, he's actually blond).

Tifa doesn't go with the others and she waits for Cloud. Aeris group is attacked by two machines but they end victorious.

Meanwhile, Cloud does nasty things to Rufus and his pet.

Rufus has other things to do and flees. Cloud reunites with Tifa and the escape sequence starts.

Cloud takes a nice motorcycle and the others a less interesting vehicle. Their destiny is the highway.

g9LGq.png
vhFEw.png

Cloud enjoys doing his two favourite things, killing and playing a minigame (I don't like his tastes, specially the second, but especially the first).

e83a0.png
UD7Hl.png

Cloud abuses his Added-Element+Lightning+Powerful sword combo and destroys his machine friends. This boss likes to toast my characters, but they answer with anger and limit breaks.

At last, the party exits Midgar and can see the World Map. Barret still has the theory that having five people in the battle group is more dangerous than having three and splits the group. Clous decides to not play favourites and takes with him the angry man and the pet. The girls are surprised, what are they thinking about the situation? Fresh air...

Currently in Ultimecia's castle trying to find all of the GF's I forgot to draw earlier, as well as unlock my sealed abilities. Also might consider fighting Omega Weapon, but it might not be pretty.
