I hope Master Chief isn't designed to have hair underneath the helmet, else I can see Halo 3 being canceled for the 360...

Resistance looks great...definitely the game to get w/ PS3.

Alright, one more retarded statement about the bald characters on 360. I mean, cause it's the 360 that can't handle hair more than the devs decision to create their characters that way. Really, you're right you know. I guess it's just an illusion that some of the guys in Gears of War have perfectly fine hair. I guess it's also just an illusion other games have characters with hair.

I think its difficult to render hair so a lot of devs simple don't use it. I mean look at Heavenly swords, the game uses 1 spe for hair physics calculations...

..and other cloth/soft dynamics AFAIK. Not quite just her hair ;) But asides from raw power requirements, it's pretty difficult to get it to look right. Even Nariko's hair is very stylised, so it lets you get away with it looking a certain way.

yeah only very talented devs can do hair properly. I like how her hair moves! Awesome stuff

The problem with rendering hair/cloth is that rendering them realistically never works in stuff like games where most of the action is not realistic. When they were making the CG Yoda in Attack of the Clones they first modelled his robes so that it had realistic weight, thickness and flexibility but during the fighting scenes the cloth kept getting in the way of the action, wrapping around the model, blinding him, making his movement look impossible and unrealistic.. So in the end they had to can the whole realistic approach and overhaul their model, animation and cloth physics. During one interview I watched they even claimed it was the most difficult CG stuff they did for AotC.
