Seriously

It is one of the largest video game message board discussion communities on the internet! with a membership which includes loads of former GameFAQs members?

EDIT: For the lazy
NeoGAF is an internet based video games message board on the internet focused on the video games industry and discussion of it using the internet through the use of a message board on the internet primarily centering on video games on the internet but not solely video games that are on the internet but also video games based on message boards; discussion of video games handling issues to do with message boards that talk about video games based on message boards on the internet are very popular? Discussion and analysis contributed by its members includes/ video game critique: reasons why NeoGAF is notabl: sales figures analysis: conspiracy theories regarding video games based on message boards: retrospective reflection at the history of the industry: and constant debate regarding the future of the industry?

The community is non-notable for a number of reasons. Discussion revolves around news that has already been posted on other video game message boards on the internet and other websites on the internet! or mass debate over the current state and future of video games message boards on the internet with a typically large amount of focus paid to sales anecdotes, business developments and sometimes focusing more on the state of the video games message board on the internet industry rather than the games themselves? It is one of the largest video game message board discussion communities on the internet! with a membership which includes loads of former GameFAQs members?

On occasion industry-aimed comments made by industry members of the video games message board industry on this forum have made industrial news throughout the industry. For example, when Nintendo revealed that the final name for their code-named console the Revolution would be Wii: MTV quoted responses from NeoGAF members ******** and ***-***\

Although it is not associated with Gaming-Age, the editors of 1UP.com are known to frequent NeoGAF more than the 1UP forums and have even lifted news straight from the forum. An inside joke as of late is "GAF < GameFAQs > GAF" which points out the humour in topics being lifted by NeoGAF members from GameFAQs then being posted on NeoGAF and then being reposted again on GameFAQs by younger members in a 2007 1UP podcast. One of the editors explained the prominence of NeoGAF as being because it was the sole place for discussion about video games message boards on the internet.

--- History---

The community originally existed as a forum of the gaming fan site Gaming Age due to increasingly heavy traffic. To the forum simultaneously declining traffic to the front page, administrators of Gaming Age decided to close. The forum.

I remember the thread about this being created. At the time I was expecting it to be a lot more in depth but I guess everyone grew apathetic too soon.

Looks more like a joke from a banned member or something.

It's a wikipedia entry, I'd assume that most people just don't care (and rightly so).

Whenever I want to find out what a forum is about, I always check wikipedia first.

What an exercise in masturbation this is.

Looking at the vandalism in the original post:

Gee whiz, "i wonder who ***-*** could be".

Crushed wouldn't have done such an uninspiring job. I think there'd have been plenty of wit and 4chan memes if Crushed was the culprit.

NeoGAF is an American internet forum[citation needed] focused on the video games industry[citation needed]. Discussion and analysis contributed by its members includes: video game critique[citation needed]; sales figures analysis[citation needed]; retrospective reflection at the history of the industry[citation needed]; and constant debate regarding its future.[citation needed]

The community is notable[citation needed] for a number of reasons. Discussion often involves breaking news in the industry[citation needed], or debate over its current state and future with a typically large amount of focus paid to sales numbers[citation needed], business developments[citation needed] and sometimes focusing more on the state of the games industry[citation needed] rather than the games themselves[citation needed]. It is one of the largest video game discussion communities on the internet, with a membership[citation needed] which includes a number of contemporary industry figures[citation needed] (such as Denis Dyack[citation needed], David Jaffe[2], Jeff Bell[3], Victor Ireland[citation needed], and Michael Pachter[4]) and is read and referenced by others who do not contribute (Peter Moore).[5]

On occasion comments made by members of the games industry on this forum have made news throughout the industry. For example, when Nintendo revealed that the final name for their code-named console the Revolution would be Wii, MTV quoted responses from NeoGAF members Speevy and Sho Nuff. [6]

Although it is not associated with Gaming-Age[citation needed], the editors of 1UP.com are known to frequent NeoGAF[citation needed] more than the 1UP forums[citation needed] and have even lifted news straight from the forum[citation needed]. An inside joke as of late is "GAF > Internet > GAF",[citation needed] which points out the humor in topics being lifted by news sites then being reposted again on NeoGAF by new members[citation needed]. In a 2007 1UP podcast, one of the editors explained the prominence of NeoGAF as being because it was the sole place for discussion at one point in time. [citation needed]

One member, known as "Crushed," steals macros from 4chan for all of his posts, causing Gaffers to unreasonably worship him even though he wishes they would knock it off, seriously Enk I'm not your rival this isn't Pokemon go away. He is currently imprisoned, and compares his ban to Baby Jesus being crucified by Hitler, meaning he is taking his ban in relative stride compared to other banned Gaffers. He wishes NeoGAF well, and reminds them to take down Amir0x and sp0rsk's tyranny in the Smash Bros. thread. He spends his time in his summer estate in Martha's Vineyard, editing Wikipoodia articles like this one.[citation needed]

Also, CTLance is a knownothing poopy head. I've been busy with TF2 and Mario Galaxy

New? :lol :lol

Now, does anybody have any serious improvements to the article?

Should be "with membership that wants to exclude GameFAQs members".

Too bad it isn't true yet.

A "wiki" is a website utilizing one of a variety of wiki software packages which allows users to edit webpages directly, Wikipedia being the foremost (but by no means only) example. You're looking for "Geez, what kind of horrible NeoGAF Wikipedia entry is this?"

Wtf?-...... How many ppl are editing this right now?

NeoGAF is a japanese-wanabe video game message board on the Internet. Discussion and analysis contributed by its members includes: video game critique; sales figures analysis; retrospective reflection at the history of the industry; and constant debate regarding its future.

I have changed at least 3 times in less than 10 minutes

if anything the [citation needed] was hilarious.

otherwise, it should be a lot harder to vandalize, as it should be protected now.

First person that gets a picture of Caligula on there to stick for more than a few hours won't get banned by me, ever, even if they post pornography with my face crudely photoshopped into it.
