Something is wrong with me. I'm 22 and I still watch tween shows (Zoey 101, Hannah Montana, That's So Raven, etc.) :/

Like it's not them making national news out of it.
Shut up! God, at least the Lewinsky thing had a political reason for us to give a fucking shit. This is the only time I've seen national news sink lower than the "pretty white girl kidnapped" stories.vas_a_morir said:This will probably destroy her career, do we all agree?

It isn't.MIMIC said:Well, at least they're putting the "how this will affect your teenage daughter" spin on it. Afterall, this IS a tween generation right now. With the mega sales and popularity of High School Musical, Hannah Montana and the like, this does seem like legitimate news.
I think thats legitimate reason for the FSB to poison her.Jenga said:kiddie spears getting pregnant > putin being person of the year in the eyes of most people
You lack comprehension of society and human psychology. You cant just tell kids "only look at adults as role models." Every human looks to peers for guidance. It would be naive to believe parents have thorough control over such a thingronito said:WTF? Your kids role models shouldn't be on TV. It should be their teachers, mentors, other things. Honestly. Teach your kids people. Be parents.

As a father of 3 I can tell you none of my kids look at TV people as role models. Sure they look to their peers. But also you gotta trust your kids more than saying , "Oh noes little Billy set himself on fire! My kid will do the same." Like I said if you teach your kids rightly and pay attention little Billy can set himself on fire without you having to worry your kids will do the same. It's not like having your kids watch a Nick show is sending them to the den of iniquity.Suburban Cowboy said:You lack comprehension of society and human psychology. Newsflash if your kid gets pregnant because she saw someone in a show on Nickelodeon got pregnant. You've got serious issues.
And all these people saying "My kid's lost a role model!" "She's not a good role model!" WTF? Your kids role models shouldn't be on TV. It should be their teachers, mentors, other things. Honestly. Teach your kids people. Be parents. I think this is why this story is like wildfire. It holds up a mirror to much of america.
Its not a monkey-see monkey-do scenario, its more the possibility of some kids who look up to this girl getting the idea that maybe this sort of behavior is ok. Its not a black or white thing, but seeing someone they look up to having sex at 16 might slightly nudge their own opinions on the matter in one way or another.ronito said:As a father of 3 I can tell you none of my kids look at TV people as role models. I'll give you that. But it'd also be a huge time for some proper parenting and guidance. At the very least, "Now you don't want to end up like that Spears girl do you?" Instead of just saying "ZOMG don't look!"Suburban Cowboy said:Its not a monkey-see monkey-do scenario, its more the possibility of some kids who look up to this girl getting the idea that maybe this sort of behavior is ok. Hannah Montana gets on my last nerve. I can stand Zoey 101 and That's So Raven though. I also enjoy the High School Musical movies.MIMIC said:Something is wrong with me. I'm 22 and I still watch tween shows (Zoey 101, Hannah Montana, That's So Raven, etc.) :/
