Eiyuu Senki PS3 coming to NA and EU via Fruitbat Factory

Looks pretty cute, never expected it to come over. It's too bad it's PSN only, but I think I'll still pick it up. What else has "Fruitbat Factory" published anyway? Never heard of them before this.

They've done some games on Steam, this will be their first console title though.

It was less unlikely because of the kind of game it is vs. any sort of sexual reason.

If you take out the sex scenes the game is tamer than all of the vita moege shovelware that gets localized nowadays ~

Personal opinion: For their first console title they should have gone with Tears To Tiara, though I'm not complaining about getting a localization of a 5pb./Mages title.

Kawaii~

Will play.

Too bad about the missing h-scenes, though. ;_;

If someone really, really wanted them, they could just rip the PS3 script with a cfw-enabled console, dump it into pc, make it work with the PC version and translate those scenes themselves, to avoid the hassle of translating the whole game
(is this even possible, technically speaking?)

Of course, seeing as this would be hard as hell, I'm not putting any bets here. Not to mention the legal aspect that since now someone is publishing the game here... Then again, this game, of all of them, is getting localized so, nothing's impossible in this world I guess :lol

Anyway, put me in the "surprised this happened" camp, especially since I saw when the fan-TL project was dropped due to a C&D and the original developers said they didn't wanted it to happen.

It's probably possible, but I doubt there is enough interest for anyone to do the work.

People will say what they will about what's being drawn, but I like the actual art style itself. The combat gameplay also looks really interesting.
Nah, I'm just here for the waifus.
Seriously, the gameplay looks pretty intriguing... I have a hard time imagining that it will be the focus of the game's reception, though.

Actually, seeing the character designs on VNDB under the characters tab, they aren't as bad as the stuff this person tends to draw, and most of them are even good.

Of course, I still have no idea how this plays, because seeing the still images don't help, and I'm too lazy to watch a video right now :p

Yep. There was another early on but later games were moslty him.

Good, go masturbate elsewhere, sickos!

Minus lewd = definitive version confirmed, just like PS2 Quartett!

Actually definitive version would be no porn + vanilla version and not Gold. Gold gave Egypt too many dumb characters.

I guess overall the battle system is easier but its more fun and there are more characters and it's visually more appealing.

The MC is just a ripoff of Rance anyway so you get the best of both worlds.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll try it once it's out.

Thanks for all the positive comments. Licensing this game has been a surprising development for us as well. If you can imagine that. :)

It will be our first console release. Before that we localized three indie Japanese games for PC. With the third one's Steam release next week, they will all be available through Steam and almost all other digital distributors.

Vita version of Eiyuu Senki is going to be released in Japan at the end of this month. We will be working on the PS3 version which was released six months ago. This does not mean that we will stop working on PC either, we have very good news on that department coming very soon.

We will consider a Vita release based on the success of the PS3 one, but I want to note that we received a surprising amount of demand for the Vita version. Considering it is not even released yet...

Good luck. I will buy the game day 1 because how ballsy is to localize this kind of game.

The simplistic gameplay would work well on the Vita, I think that's why. I have the PS3 and PC versions but for an NA release I'd probably rather buy a digital vita ver- nevermind I just realized I'm selling my Vita so PS3 one is fine.

Also if possible please change all dialogue so that Captain Cook is renamed to ponpo. Thanks!

Hi Fruitbat Factory, thanks for localizing this game! From what I understand, the upcoming Vita release has a new character and additional CGs. Will they be added to the English PS3 version?

Its pretty simplistic really, its a "character game" in the sense you play it for the characters and the story. Rather than actual gameplay. Which is why folks looking for any sort of "deep" or "challenging" strategy game are going to be let down lol
Aww man, what bummer. I'm not really fan of genderbedn thing which automatically lose me on the characters point, but I might bite if the strategy part is good enough :/
Type in game name + billy the kid into google.
As I type b it show eiyuu senki beethoven which kinda piqued my interest lol

Congrats for landing the project, it seems like a huge step up.
Looking forward to whatever you have in progress on PC.

Good on ya, the moe-market in the US is growing, trust us =)

Very commendable of you guys to do this. Hope you find success with it :D

This looks right up my alley, seeing as I like Turn-based Strategy and uhh stuff.

Isn't there an all-ages Koihime Musou that can be brought over as well?

There are PS2 and PSP ports of it, yes. MangaGamer is working on Shin Koihime Musou, but I doubt there is anyone willing to put out the all-ages version.

There's a lot of demand for the Vita release because the target audience that loves games like this are on the Vita. With Xseed, NISA, Aksys, Atlus and IFI growing this demographic of gamers.

Good luck on your release, I can't wait to play it on the PS3.

Great, if possible would you consider making the game cross buy if you do decide to release a vita version assuming ps3 is successful, as I'd likely buy the game on ps3 and wait for the vita version then.

Also could you bring over the tears in to tiara games please

I'm really happy to see another company localizing console games! :D
Console gamers(especially Vita gamers or "Vitabros" as we call ourselves in gaf lol) are really hungry for localizations.

thank you for posting here and yes as others have said, please do the vita release also

Those are Vita exclusive features, we can't add them to the PS3 version. Mages. adds each new platform release new exclusive features to make buying them attractive.

Thanks for bringing this over, will this have a retail release?

We believe that the digital releases are the way to go, aside making Limited Collectors Editions with goodies. We can do something like that if there is a demand, but otherwise we are digital only.

It was a PC (erotic) game. I think the PS3/Vita versions are almost straight ports minus the H scenes?

PS3/Vita versions doesn't have any adult content but instead have new scenes, CGs (full screen artworks), characters and such exclusive stuff.

Should the demand make you decide to do a sort of Limited CE, I'll be buying one for sure.

I want.

I think you'll see a decent bit of demand in this thread alone and in general as the best games to have physical editions usually are the niche games.

I hope you make a LE, with these niche games, I want as much physical stuff I can get. Maybe you can gauge interest (via crowdfunding?) to see if there's enough demand.
